Bismillah
As Salaamu Alaykum,
Brothers and sisters! I am not writing this to insult anybody or to hurt anybody's feelings. Please have patience and read carefully.
Pakistan is a country where the Muslims have decided to distinguish themselves from the polytheist Hindus. In Pakistan, there is a general misconception that Hindus are physically impure. Therefore, Pakistanis assume that since they are not Hindus, they are pure.
"Pak" is a farsi word for pure and clean. Hence, Pakistan stands for the land of the pure or the land of the clean.
The Qur'anic verse used as reference by Pakistanis to claim purity is explained by the Hanafi scholar Imam Abu Bakar al Jasas ar-Razi:
The usage of the word, filth with regards to polytheists is because the polytheist believes that which much be avoided, just as filth and dirty matters must be avoided. This is why they were named filthy. (Jassas, Tafsir Ahkam al-Quran, 3.130)
Since polytheism as a belief system is considered impure, one cannot claim that Hindus are all physically impure. After all, all human beings are children of of Adam and Allah has created mankind not be an impure being. Everybody can become a monotheist and leave state of impurity. So impurity in this sense is not physical.
It is the ideas and beliefs which are impure. Therefore, when one's thoughts and ideas are impure one cannot claim to be "Pak".
Pakistan is a country where the consitution and the whole legal system is based on British man-made laws. Choosing another lawgiver other than Allah is polytheism. Therefore, the Pakistan as a country is constitutionally polytheist.
Furthermore, Pakistani religion is that of worshipping graves. Almost every village in Pakistan has a grave site where people go to to beseech other than Allah.
We all know that beseeching other than Allah is polytheism. Therefore, it is more appropriate to say Pakistan is a polytheist society except those who do not engage in polytheism.
In conclusion we could say that since both religious practice and the legal system is polytheistic, one cannot claim that Pakistan is Pak.
So I advice the sincere brothers and sisters of Pakistan to change the name of the country to Shirkistan or Murdaristan. Because these names are more appropriate.
Alternatively, you could try to change the country and its religious practices by getting rid of polytheism. But I am afraid that it won't be possible in foreseeable future. Therefore a name change for the country seems more appropriate.
Note, I am your benefactor. I mean no harm. I am just giving you a sincere advice.
