why has the muslim blood become so cheap?? because selfish goat lovers like you have allowed it to become cheap. because you don't like what is happening, everyone else must suffer too. and if you are low enough to refer to your own flag as toilet paper, why should anyone else respect your country or it's people. why should anyone else refrain from not using it as toilet. you didn't refrain from it when you didn't like it, why should anyone else.

Since when did not liking a government over a country = not liking the people and land? That is the most twisted logic I've ever heard! Even by the standards of a secularist hippie like yourself.

I don't actually have an opinion of the flag, i don't agree or disagree with what SK has stated and nor do i have the interest to look into it but not liking a flag does not equal not liking the people and its land. For the sake of Allah many countries have changed their flags over the centuries, it doesn't mean anything!

the flag represents the land and its people. If you compare it to toilet paper, you can't be having very high regards for the land or the people.
While we are at it, how dare you call me a hippie and a secularist one too?? And I happen to have remembered how our first argument in this forum ended so I will leave you with a sore ego that will leave you suffering for the next ten years if you don't mind what you say to me from now on.

Declaring a national flag as a toilet tissue shows the real clash between Islamism and Nationalism/Secularism. This is the ideological difference and reflects on the mindset of Islamists.

For the extremist Islamists it will be ideal to wipe out all national states like Afghanistan, Pakistan , Iran and the other 58 Muslim states and declare one Caliphate with religious or theocratic kind of government.

These people are against every symbol of a nation state. These are the enemies of Afghans, Iranians, Pakistanis, Arabs, Turks, Indonesians and others.

Let us fight against them together and make them understand that religion is for faith in super natural beliefs and worship not for running states, societies and economies.

Their union, unity and grouping is based on economy, defense, politics, international affairs and other secular issues not on the basis of religion or some sentimental emotional theme or beliefs like Tawheed.

They maintain their flags, their states, their anthems, their governments, their institutions but cooperate with each other in various fields for better performance and welfare of their people.

who cares if its secular issues or religious ones(that's up to the people themselves). The main thing is to unite. The Chinese and Russians are more stable because of their economic and political unity, not because of flags or anthems. Small weak states run by military dictators never brings stability.

The Embassy of Afghanistan website has this picture which doesn't have a cross.

After looking at the flags of previous Afghan governments I see that some of them also have the cross and I am wondering if this is also retouched versions of historical flags by the same group.

Shamlawar Saab. I think that post of yours is something of a faux pas.

As you get older and wiser, I hope that you refine the art of thinking before you blurt things out. The flag you call toilet paper has the Kalima shown on it and the words 'Allah Akbar'. It deserves more respect.

                  DZJ has said the rest.

@Ahmad Abdul-Rahimzai - look at the flag again. I can't see why you are confusing it with Christianity.

You are wrong. The flag is standard. Each and every new government puts its own symbol on it. The current symbol is that of Karzai. Communists used a different one. It keeps changing.

It is the colours of the flag that sumbolizes Kemalism of Amanullah Khan.

In west each one of them have their own flag, their own language and their own culture. Like in Europe they are united under EU and have free borders, trade and anyone can became a citizen in any EU nation regardless from which European nation they are from.

Becoming united with our Muslim brethren doesn't mean we have to disregard our nation, language and culture. We can still be Afghanistan, Iran, Arabia etc. and have a free trade, no border etc. We don't have to abandon our language, culture and nation to be united.
Don't quote me or speak to me if you hate Afghanistan, you be ignored.

People with identity crisis will be ignored as well.

Even during the time of the Khilafah, each and every Muslim region did have its own local identity. If our tribal, ethnic and cultural identity really was in danger during the time of Khilafah, how did all these languages and cultures survive?

The point is, secularists and nationalists are suggesting that an Islamic union under a Khalif means abolition of national and local identity.

This is exactly what those fascist Euro-sceptics like Geert Wilders in Holland are saying. They are against the European Union because they hate other non-Dutch Europeans. Especially Eastern Europeans. They say that a European Constitution, a European flag, a European monitary system and a European Anthem will jeoperdize their own national idenity.

I agree with your post . However religion is a base for religious unity but it cannot be termed as a base for economic, political, cultural, social, linguistic or other forms of unity.

All Muslims are brothers in Islam but we have also Pashtun brotherhood(Pashtuns of Afghanistan, Pakistan etc), South Asian Association(SAARC), Economic unity(ECO), Security alliance(SCO) etc. Arab League is an example based on nationalism and geography.

The weakest Organization is OIC which is based on religion.

I love my brother Muslim in Mali but he cannot serve the purpose of economic or political unity. Geography comes first. A Hindu in India is more important than a Muslim for economic or political purpose.

I am impressed by the success of EU, ASEAN and UN. All these discard religion to be a foundation for unity.

Think about kurds, baloch and even Pashtuns in Pakistan. There is even worse examples but these will do.
My point is uniting under one country will eventually erase culture and language and Pakistan is a good example.

I personally don't want to unite all Islamic countries under one country, but rather unite them under an Islamic union just like EU.

Each individual country can have their own culture, teach their own language and have their own army/police. Yet, because of the union we will not have borders, there will be free trade and any person from an Islamic country can became citizen in another Islamic country.

This way we will be united and still have independence.

Another thing I am not trying to offend you, but you are the reason why people wont even consider an unified Islamic countries.
A moment ago you said, you will use an Afghan flag as toilet paper... If one cannot respect his own country, his own people, then he deserve no respect at all. You basically contradict yourself...

Turkey is in Europe yet it isn't a part of EU.

I understand what you trying to say, but from geographic standpoint all Islamic countries are connected. Iraq to Iran, Iran, to Afghanistan and Balochistan, Afghanistan and Balochistan to Punjab, Punjab to India. Islamic countries is like one big chain.

So basically if each one had his own Nation(like Afghanistan, Iran, Balochistan, Punjab etc), then Islamic union is possible both economical and political. In the other hand if countries like Pakistan exist who oppress and who try to erase culture/language of other people, then Islamic unity will never happen.

This is not true every where. Local languages, cultures, religions , political and economic systems were wiped out in many countries when Arabs started occupying lands outside Makkah ands Madina. today

At that time religion could serve for uniting people but today this is an obsolete idea. Wwe do not have any Christian union, any Buddhist union, any other union based on any other religion so Islam cannot be an exception. However Islam can serve for spiritual and religious unity as we see on Hajj days.
