Local government officials in Farah Province are reporting that residents of a few villages in Bala Bulook district have stood up against the Taliban and publically announced their support from the government of Afghanistan. The presence and subversive activities of the Taliban in some parts of Bala Bulook district has given high motivation among the people of Bala Bulook district to provide security for their district. Abdul Rahman Zwandai spokesperson for the governor of Farah said residence of Bala Bulook district have introduced 120 young and energetic individuals to be recruited as local police to fight the Taliban and to secure the district.
