Contention: Secularism causes war, mass murder and tyranny

Do you agree with my contention? Do you believe that it is due to the rise of Secularism that we have seen so many killings in the 20th century? Do you believe that the reason why more people were killed in the 20th century than ever before is because of secularism?

No I don't think so, were the milions of Native Americans also killed becuase of secularism? Or the milions in Africa and Australie and South America? Or the Milions that were killed by Mongols?

I am glad that you admit that secularism is rising. That is true.

Can you cite a single example that a man was killed in the name of secularism. The struggle in Middle East and Arab uprising is against the authoritarian rulers and not as such killing people in the name of secularism.

On the other hand Arabs, Turks, Pashtuns, Barbers killed millions in the name of Jihad and Qital. Other examples are Inquisition, mass acts such as the Crusades or Holy Wars although these become too intertwined with politics and culture.

In the following site I discovered something new that monotheism is also a cause of many wars and terrorist acts.

For example in Nigeria from 1990 to 2007, 20,000 have been killed specifically in the name of religion1. The country is divided between Christians and Muslim, and religious identity is highly important, more so than nationalism or any other element of identity.

Wars have been fought between Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland and between Jews and Arabs in the Middle East. However, common to all this violence was an underlying struggle for power. Yes secularism is one of the biggest reason. Some other factors are also involved but its a fact that 90% of murders are done by the secularists for the sake of secularism or ethnicity or nationalisn or economic wars or any other war.
