The ministry of interior affairs of Afghanistan issued an arrest warrant of Abdul Hakim Shujahi who is accused for civilians murder and torture in southern Uruzgan province of Afghanistan.
Abdul Hakim Shujahi is believed to control a group of irresponsible armed group in Khas Uruzgan district, and is accused for death and torture of over 100 civilians in this district.
Sediq Sediqi, spokesman for the interior ministry of Afghanistan said the interior ministry has issued an arrest warrant for the detention of Shaujahi, to Afghan police and other security institutions.
Mr. Sediqi did not disclose further information regarding the exact location where Shujahi is living, however, he said that the security institutions are working to trace his location.
This comes as a number of Khas Uruzgan disrict residents last year visited Kabul and complained regarding Shujahi’s illegal activities. The complaints commission in Afghan parliament also said that Shujahi was involved in murder of over 100 civilians in Uruzgan province.
The ministry of interior affair of Afghanistan earlier last year also vowed to arrest shujahi within one week. However, head of the complaints commission in Afghan parliament said that Afghan police could not arrest Shujahi as he was supported by Karim Khalili, the deputy of president Hamid Karzai.
But Karim Khalili’s office denied the allegations and called it as baseless.
