Never talk with Afghans about politics. All their political knowledge is limited to conspiracy theories, political demonization and contradictions. No logic, no reason.
Pakistani Textbook version: During a routine training mission, a Pakistani pilot Rashid Minhas deliberately crashed the jet aircraft into the ground when he found out that it was hijacked by his trainer who was indeed an Indian agent and intended to take the aircraft to India. He preferred to die rather than letting the Indian spy take the aircraft to India.
True version: Yawar A. Mazhar, a writer for Pakistan Military Consortium, relayed in 2004 that he spoke to retired PAF Group Captain Cecil Chaudhry about Minhas, and that he learned more details not generally known to the public. According to Mazhar, Chaudhry lead the immediate task of investigating the wreckage and writing the accident report. Chaudhry told Mazhar that he found the jet had hit the ground nose first, instantly killing Minhas in the front seat. Rahman's body, however, was not in the jet and the canopy was missing. Chaudhry searched the area and saw Rahman's body some distance behind the jet, the body found with severe abrasions from hitting the sand at a low angle and a high speed. Chaudhry thought that Minhas probably jettisoned the canopy at low altitude causing Rahman to be thrown from the cockpit because he was not strapped in. Chaudhry felt that the jet was too close to the ground at that time, too far out of control for Minhas to be able to prevent the crash.
Pakistani textbooks have preached falsehoods, hatred and bigotry. They have constructed most non-Muslims, especially Hindus, as evil and primordial enemies, glorified military dictatorships and omitted references to our great betrayal of the Bengali brothers and sisters who were the founders and owners of the Pakistan movement. It is time to correct these wrongs.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
According to Pakistani professor Tariq Rahman, Pakistani textbooks cannot mention Hindus without calling them cunning, scheming, deceptive or something equally insulting. The textbooks ignore the pre-Islamic history of Pakistan except to put the Hindu predecessors in negative light

All so very true. The sad part of this is that south and central asia had some of the most illustrious historians and its people used to preserve quiet a bit through their oral traditions. The histories and Tarikh of Al Munshi were renowned.
Yet, regarding the mistruths in textbooks, we see the same phenomena in India
A leading secularist duo (a Hindu and Muslim) exposed these slants:
"Hate propaganda is their main weapon. Booklets containing materials that incite violence and promote hatred among communities are distributed in small towns and tehsils. There are textbooks in Gujarat that have anti-Muslim references", he said specially mentioning that the BA 2nd year textbooks portray Hitler as hero and refer Islam as religion of violence."
This was as recent as 2012, indicating that even a rising power has had a hard time shaking the shackles of British subjugation.
What should concern us more is what is going on in Afghanistan
Sadly, under Karzai and his band of technocrats in Kabul, the same sort of selective editing of textbooks is occurring:
With the one lone voice offering the statement of:
"This will be the biggest treason against the people of Afghanistan. . . . It will be a hindrance to all of our spiritual and material gains over the last four decades,” said Mir Ahmad Kamawal, a history professor at Kabul University. “All these young people will be deprived of knowing what happened during this period.”
Sadly, Karzai and the technocrats with dual citizenships are successfully building the a new Pakistan right next door to the old one.
It seems that despite his anti Pakistan speeches, Mr. Karzai is intent on stealing Mr. Zardari's thunder.

Why do you refer to Karzai as a Technocrat? I'd be honored if Technocrats were to run Afghanistan, given their knowledge of algorithms, problem-solving.
