Massoud was a traitor and a warlord like dostum. It sickens me that this guys pictures are still hanging in shopping malls in Mazar and Kabul. Amin Wardak and even hekmatyar were true commanders who fought AGAINST the soviets.

Afghan mujhadeen were only financed by the CIA and were provided weapons and only weapons. They never worked with America or Saudi (OBL was uninvited to Afghanistan) while tajiks like massoud and rabbani secretly made alliances with the Russian government.

if i'm wrong on all point then show me the evidence!
As far as I am aware, Amin Wardak wasn't involved in the 90s crises and was in fact very critical of it and the interwarring commanders (i.e. he was against Hekmatyar's rocketing of Kabul and the players in the civil war from 92 to 96 - especially those who went on to get government positions).
Also, he received relatively little funding from the Americans since it was mostly stuck in Peshawer being funneled off by the corrupt groups based there (i.e. Rahim Wardak, the old defense minister of Karzai's Afghanistan).
I cannot speak for the other commanders though.
I remember confirming the above in books & old articles that I had read but those were saved on my old computer.
--- To advise others is an easy matter, the difficulty is accepting advice -- since it is bitter for those who follow their
own inclinations and desires.
