  • Fantasy Politics

I would like to hear of your choice candidate/party, ideally a real potential leadership, but fictional/fantasy leader can be conisidered, who can lead AFGHANISTAN with success, where you define success.

Lets debate and see what character, quality, vision, resource, etc is wanted by the PF sample representatives for their vision of Afghanistan. We can then discuss the merits, reality, possibility and effectiveness of the demands. You may relate the EFFECTS of your choice to Afghan nationals, and pashtuns in Qwata, FATA and KPK.

My reason for starting this is from some annoying premises such as:
All leaders steal or misapropriate, appoint their connections (nepotism), abuse power, are corrupt, grab land, betray trust, etc. and the next one isnt going to be any better ....

    So, show your cards.

    torkham kaka,

As someone who initiated this topic can we kindly ask you to give us more of a head starter, please we novices are eager to know as to what really went through your mind for starting this threat. As a mashar I have heard that you attend alot of milmastyagani in Kabul and there seems to be a lot going on in relation to the upcoming elections.

I am feeling like I should also stand for the president's post. I could def do better job than Karzai and practically beat the crap out of his mafia and warlord buddies and I could throw his corrupt incompetent cabinet ministers into the fetid waters of Kabul river. Real stuff and no fantasies please.

As i stated the reason for starting the thread is that hearing people trash Karzai, most don't continue the trashing with possible alternative candidates, the candidates themselves promote their selves candidacy. Their supporters support their chosen candidate, but the words lingering in the hype are if the next man is any better, who os he? The non-committed assert in despair that the next guy too may be a stooge of the americans, he too will rapidly accumulate more wealth beyond scope of his regular business and will appoint his cronies, and grab land etc
in other words, they are all the same on the whole and any differences they have do not make the impact on the average person that one is led to hope when these candidates make their claims before elections.

Ok for example, i suggest sarwar ahmadzai may be a better candidate, he doesn't have warlord credentials. He is educated and there is no evidence at the moment linking him to any foreign governmet in terms of propaganda. Sarwar Ahmadzai has not been propped into Bonn Conference or any other Jirga by american teleportation magic illusion as is claimed for Karzai. He is almost unheard of, compared to doc 'dullah 'dullah or Ghani, so harder to dislike him from previous animosities or disagreements. He spends time with brothers straddled in pk, listening to their plights too. There is to date no linkage with ISI سپي agents. He speaks farsi and is not overtly appealing to other afghan nationals but approaching all afghan national ethnicities in balance, so he claims. There seems to be no internecine pashtun rivalry evident so far.

        Caveat: this is an example.

Of course it is easy to say i'll bash so and so and do a better job than the current incumbent, but remember what you will claim to do for your country is open to challenge.

BTW i dont spend so much time on political mehmani in kabul, the fame you may have heard of is the incident when i met some over excited tajiks who over stepped their ambitions with reference to noor atta becoming next pres. candy.

Ustad sahib is a blessing for tajiks. He is mover-shaker, a strategic hard hitter given his dalliances with dostam, his approach with uzbek govt., his profitable governance of balkh.

He is an asset and a threat - let him be a vizier in kabul, not in his region.

hard to say, so many variables. we are talking leadership skills, alliances, credibility, personal reputation.

i don't think we can find anyone who has exemplary qualities in the above mentioned criteria, at least no one who can propel themselves to the spot light without tarnishing at least one of those qualities. if we want to compare the last few leaders we can say karzai has good alliances, mullah omar has better personal reputation but nothing else, going back to zahir shah he had weak leadership, strong alliances, strong credibility, and an average personal reputation.

its next to impossible to put forth an ideal candidate without considering the dirty side of afghan politics. an ideal leader would have to have islamic party credentials, be tolerated by even past or present enemies, and be someone who didn't run west when the going got tough. it would probably have to be a hezb i islami member that is maybe on the gov't side or maybe on the other side, they are both the same really.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
