Dr. Asad Ali met the Afghan Deputy Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs Dai-ul-Haq Abid in Kabul. Meanwhile, the Afghan Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs sought further assistance from the Indonesian scholars in taking forward the peace process of Afghanistan.
The Indonesian official visited Afghanistan to strengthen relationships between the two countries and provide assistance in the Afghan peace process.Dr. Asad Ali assured his country's support to Afghanistan for peace and said that Indonesia will also create a cultural center in the region. "One and a half years ago, the former Head of High Peace Council travelled to Indonesia and had discussions with the country. We are trying to involve Indonesia in the peace process," the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs Dai-ul-Haq Abid said.
"My message is peace, brotherhood and being away from war. The suicide attacks don't have benefits, neither for the people nor for Islam. For us, this meet is very prospective because Indonesia has had a strong relationship with Afghanistan for over 40 years. The Government and the people must think in a progressive manner. So much still needs to be done for a better future. The prospect of Afghanistan is very bright. Afghanistan should forget the past. The Afghans must be given a chance to grow up and be modernized. They should build the Islamic culture and not follow the Westerners completely," Dr. Asad Ali said.
The Indonesian Religious Scholars Movement has 40 million members. It is also considered as a big Islamic and cultural pillar among the Islamic countries. The Ministry of Hajj and Islamic Affairs believes that the Movement's assistance will greatly benefit Afghanistan.
