And yes, he is also very close to Saudi-supported Punjabi terrorist outfit Lashkar-i-Toiba.

The members here should know that mufti munir shakir who founded lashkar e islam in khyber agency was from jhang district of punjab, centre of sectarian conflicts. His lashkar e islam would be later led by mangal bagh. They fought for 8 years against bareilvi organization ansar ul islam and this war claimed thousands of lives.....this mangal bagh imposed taliban like rule on afridis and was involved in kidnapping for ransoms, he is linked with ISI or certain elements within it, it is confirmed to me through solid source.....I am thinking mufti munir shakir was working for ISI, extremely skilled orator and according to afridis he appeared one day on khyber agency from nowhere and easily created space for himself and influence. Some deep games are being played with pashtuns which are beyond our grasp, ISI has even bearded and religous servicemen who are involved in taliban games....

However, India is reaching out to all ethnic factions, including Pashtuns, in Afghanistan to ensure that the Pakistan-based terrorist groups do not get a safe haven across the Durand Line. This is being done after the US and Afghan intelligence reports indicated that groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba had moved into Kunar and Nuristan provinces across the Pakistan border.
