    Not ANOTHER of these threads.

We brow beat a lot and jump on the bandwagon of apology/explanation/doing other people's dirty work for them. Yes this is a problem and we know it but there is a fundamental difference in viewing from the outside and looking the answers within. Something often mixed up here I reckon. Ends up being more of a disservice.

When i first read the title of this thread, i knew it was going to be something bacha bazi related, and yup i was right lol. Bacha Bazi is a serious concern in Northern Afghanistan.

Jamaludeen how come you keep posting bachabazi threads over and over again, why don't you just merge them into one.

So people know we do not accept bacha baazi... I would rather want people come to pashtunforums than go to some other website... where other can all sit together and bash us... as uncivilized animals...

If you have a problem with it, then just ignore it.

i often wonder if this too begun long time ago the way during the elizabethan time most performers on stage were younger boys portrayed as women... and then the idea was exploited centuries later until it turned in to child abuse.

It came to Afghanistan from central asian migrations after russian invasions, it was culture of turkistan. I was reading in a book that during first anglo-afghan war amir dost mohamad khan sought refuge with amir bukhara. The amir e bukhara when saw the two young sons of dost mohammad khan, expressed his desire to sleep with them...dost mohammad khan was utterly shocked at such demand, and within that night he escaped from bukhara. It were Russians who put end to bacha bazi in central asia.

yup. There are british authors that wrote books about the subject during the time when the brits went to Afghanistan and they confirm that this practice is foreign to Afghanistan and the Indian subcontinent and entered from the North. There was a propaganda campaign later on in India to make this practice look like a "mohamadan" practice to create religion divide.
