  • Iranian forces open fire on Afghans, dozens killed or injured

According to local authorities in western Farah province of Afghanistan, dozens of Afghans were killed or injured after Iranian security forces opened fire on a group of Afghans inside the Iranian soil.

The incident took place after a group of Afghans illegally entered Iran from Pashmaki bordering region.

A local security official speaking on the condition of anonymity said at least ten Afghans were killed and nine others were injured.

However a eyewitness said Iranian forces opened fire on a group of 300 Afghans and around 50 people were killed and dozens of others were injured.

In the meantime the local security official said the deceased individuals were residents of western Herat province and their dead bodies have been taken Lash-o-Joyand district.

Provincial governor spokesman for Farah province also confirmed the report and said around nine people injured in today’s incident have been taken to hospital for treatment purposes.

He said there are fears that the number of casualties could rise.

So what is the Afghanistan response to iran.

    any major movement against Iran?

has the taliban declared to fight against iran on behalf of ANA?

i wish we could have a secure border with Afghanistan like iran had during soviet invasion

our dream of becoming south korea would have been almost completed by now

Did this (Iranian and Pakistani cross border fire) ever occur before the US/NATO war in Afghanistan began in late 2001? It is known that the Iranians massed their army in 1998/1999 (Im hazy on the exact year) on the border due to the deaths of Iranian diplomats, but nothing happened.

          Can someone please confirm?

Also, doesn't the Strategic Pact that Karzai signed with the US define that the US defend Afghanistan if it is attacked by a foreign power? (For this question, never mind the fact that US/NATO airstrikes have resulted in many Afghan civilian deaths).

So far in these last two years, there have been several occasions when Iran and Pakistan have fired volleys of missiles into Afghanistan.

Has Iran done this to any of its other neighbors?

the question is why this double standard of afghans only against Pakistan

Iran killed more than a dozen and no protest at all while pakistan on the other hand which has given free passage to warm water to afghanistan, millions of refugees home, universities filled with afghans.majority of the afghan's gets education in pakistan including many of afghan leaders, import our cements and sugar, import everything from us.

than why this double standard only against pakistan?
dont you think its high time Afghans get closer to pakistan to eliminate the talibans from both the countries together

So Afghans should become conditioned and never protest what they see as wrong for the sake of fairness?

Should willingly accept border incursions/events by Iran and Pakistan simply because there is a US-NATO war there?

                    no never meant this.

my point is even though when pakistan has given so much to afghanistan still they protested against pakistan but not against china

i am yet to see rally all over afghanistan against iran,or taliban claiming to be ready to fight against iran?

why this double standard against pakistan only.

do you want us to fence the whole durand line if this continue?
