Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

        All islamicislamic parties........God
I will quote here Pir Rokhan whoe wrote in this forum

The sacrifices of Afghans for Islam have been exercise in futility and their misuse of being a cannon fodder for imperialist forces of Greeks, Mongols, Moghuls, British, Americans and recently Punjabis have NOT done any good to them except pushing them 500 years back. They have done nothing productive for themselves by sacrificing themselves for Islam or by acccepting the role of scape goat. Hence this sacrificing business should stop. They should start sacrificing themselves only for their land, poeple, country and humanity at large.

Please explain few points if possible
Hizbu Tehrir has been banned in many countries. How it can survive in Afghanistan?

Any further detail on this Afghan Liberal party? Seems to be the best option so far for me!

Is there any Pashtun nationalist party like ANP pr PMAP in Pakistan?

badlun rolls his eyes at "islamic parties" but jumps on the afghan liberal party bandwagon without knowing a thing about it because it has the word "liberal" in it.

            this guy is deep.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

I don't think afg has much of a political party culture. its kind of just coalitions of groups for and against karzai. though most of those people seem like crooks and these parties don't really have any platforms. the coalition that is against karzai is just lazy and don't believe in their own rhetoric enough to actually take any action. all politics in afg is just lazy, thats probably why most of the parliament doesn't even show up.

^ How does the structure actually work are parliamentarians elected from constituencies and they are the ones who control funds ? Is there a provincial assembly as well ? Also is parliament the only legislative house ?

Its a central government system Talal unlike pakistans federal system. The governors are appointed by the president who control funds so they are put on a tight leash and has to abide by the presidents policies. The governors dont have incentive to work for the people of the province since their job is not dependent on getting elected by them. These governors also work to organize people to vote for the president in order to be reappointed. Thats what happened during the last election, the governors stuffed fake ballets on karzais behalf to keep their jobs.

The aim was to have the governors who in reality is a rep of the president since he appoints them to work with the people of the province, ask them what they need and provide services for those people and in turn the people would support the government but what happened was the governors pocketed the money and did almost nothing for the people. The only somewhat success stories is Herat and Jalalabad where there is somewhat progress.
Combine this with US forces breaking in doors hunting Terrorists and when the people asked the governor why that is happening, the governor could not give a good answer, so the people instead supported the ones who fought those that broke doors down. Criminal gangs started propping up since they saw the governors with loads of cash and wanted a piece of the pie so they also started to target the governors and their associates and started to kidnap, extort, and involved themselves in weapon and drug smuggling. The illegal activities gave the governors some independence from the central government(Karzai) and started to make money on the side by cooperating with criminal gangs.

So the corruption of Kabul and its appointed governors combined with US arrogance resulted in chaos.

But there is no real party system in Afghanistan like you have in Pakistan or India or the US. You have power brokers and warlords. Anyone legitimately elected with no guns on the streets cant really flex his muscles or get anything done.

Karzais has no guns on the streets since he is not really a warlord and that is one of the reason the US chose him since they(US) would be his guns on the street and he would be the pashtun face and it would be easier to control him since he is nothing without them. The plan was to build an ANA commanded by the central government to weaken the warlords influence. Since the warlords did not want to lose influence, they(mostly Tajik, hazara, uzbek) started to infiltrate the ANA with their own militia members who were loyal to their own warlord and secured the officer positions for themselves.

On top of that Karzai did not really do anything to encourage people to create parties.

I have some questions on this behalf.
Pashtuns have as it seems a long history of organization without a central government and parties.
This kind of tribal organization is today by many, at least many foreigners, seen as bad ineffective, cruel, backwards.
I am sure it may be even that way, because years of war and artificial destabilization did not give any chance to develop in positive directions.

The democratic system/ party-elections system however doesn't work in a normal way even in wester countries, where at least mentality and culture are adapted to it.

Now to switch to centralization and a government a change of mentality is needed, so or there is given a chance over long time to change, or afghan souls and bodys have to be broken for not opposing the changes (and that in the ideal case if the government is honest but misunderstood).
Is it worth to do that way? And why is it worth?
Why is it unworthy to "heal" the existing structure of elders and assemblys that is good developed and could be redeveloped and adjusted to the nowdays demands without dstroying the society?
Why do people think tribal structure is only a bad and needs to be completely destroyed and al completely rebuilt?
Why than people simply not accept comunism, that preached exactly the same and that failed exactly of the incapacity to break the human mentality and its vices in a second?
Why is system that is based on the roots of Pashtun society and that is much more difficult to corrupt, to buy and to globalize seen as "evil" only because it got sick with time and because the people of today maybe lack capacities and education to use it in a rightfull manner? why can't this system be changed, not completely destroyed?
I am intrested on your views.
But please don't simply list all the bad moments of that existed with the tribal society and pashtunwali, explain please the deep root of the problems and if you can also why it is not adjustable.
                      Thank you all in advance!
                      Best health to you!

In tribal system, the tribe is alive but the individual is dead. Pashtuns need their Pashtunwali adopted to democracy. There is no other way out. Pashtun leaders and intellectuals should think over it and chalk out a modus operendi to have democracy and not to lose culture and distinctive social values.

explain your statement of how the individual is dead in tribal society. The individual is more alive in tribal society that any other society and pashtunwali really exist in the tribal areas in afghanistan and pakistan, in urban settings, its not really in practice.

I doubt you understand what your talking about.

I don't really have a huge degree of knowledge in Afghan politics nor does it bother me sometimes, but in my general opinion Afghanistan doesn't even have a political party or built as one unlike the west or other countries. It has always have been run by curroput warlords back in the soviet days and the afgan government didn't seem to give a crap. It has always been a tribal run society going back as far the kushan times who were practicing loya jirgas.
