    Pukhtana,

Thx for the kind words. The bolded part was sarcasm hence the “lol” in referring to the Durand Line as wonderful , and I was merely stating that a lot of the issues in Afghanistan and the region can be solved if the ISI were to stop interfering and terrorising.

As for your question about will happen to Tajiks in Kandahar in case of separation, I think the issue of an eventual partition of Afghanistan deserves a thread of its own. I will be glad to discuss these issues and the general hostility of Tajiks and other ethnicities of Afghanistan towards a Loy-Afghanistan where they will become insignificant minorities in their own country.

Furthermore I think the issue of Loy-Afghanistan or Khorasan or Pashtunistan is quite irrelevant at the moment. The ISI has won in Afghanistan and within 2 years, Afg will once again unfortunately become a defacto fifth province of Pakistan, we will once again be a battle ground for regional players to fight their proxy wars.

Innocent Tajiks will fight with Iranian and Russian guns killing Pashtuns to "free afghanistan" and innocent Pashtuns will fight with Pakistan and Saudi guns killing Tajiks to "establish islamic emirate". The losser will be all all Afghans.

    Khattak Agha,
Thx for your reply, and I understand there are many tribes of Pashtuns in Pakistan, it's just that those three that I mentioned were the only ones I was aware of since they are on the news frequently.

    Wasalaam

      Have a great day.

Are you Mehsud? LOL From Waziristan? Now that's a surprise!

No offence but because of your secular anti-Pakistan views I thought you were probably a Paktia-Khosti Khalqi?? Are sure you're not from Paktia-Khost? LOL

Are you a minority in Waziristan in terms of your views? Or are most locals in Waziristan in tune with the games of ISI but they are just held hijacked by ISI servants?

Have you been back? Are the Arabs hidden or do they walk openly around the province? Have they inter-married with the locals?

          Khidr,

I know you too well son, trust me you are too distinguishable and easily recognised, zoya. I know you A, you are a 5ft fascist, and I can still read through your shallow words no matter what others think of you. Nevertheless, it is still an improvement on your part, I knew you will change, I knew that hard reality might knock some sense in to your peanut head, it is amazing to see with a renewed attitude. I hope you remain and change for good, for the positive, and betterment of your own self. Other wise, one day me and you will have hesab and ketab, that is a promise! You are really good at making enemies, I must say.

Is that Massoudov in your avatar?

Locals are stuck in the middle. Recently a Mahsud Jirga refused to make a Government Lashkar to fight Taliban on the grounds that Pakistan and Taliban always make peace agreements and treaties.

Many people from Waziristan speak like me but they are afriad. A mahsud will speak openly only to a Mahsud but nobody else, that is the reality over there and I got the honour of listening to their concerns.

There are small groups of Arabs in North Waziristan in the places such as Mir Ali and Miram Shah.

There are also Uzbek and Alot of Tajiks from Tajikistans who fight under the banner of Taliban.

Nobody has inter married in Mahsud areas, Some have in the Wazir Areas.

            Kind Regards

              Afghan Solder,

Dear brother, firstly, and fore mostly, that is Shahid Ahmad Shah Massoud!

As tempting as you are making it for me to drag this conservation to the gutters by your colourful words of “fascists” and ‘hesab o ketab’ I will once again resist the temptation and exercise sabr and patience. I am not here to sell my “shallow words” to you or other Pashtuns in order to get elected mayor of Peshawar or Kandahar. I am here for the purposes that I outlined. I will proceed and will leave the extent of my fascism to be judged by the people I engage in discussions with.

              Waslaam.

Puktana, thanks for the advice but when I decided to register here I was quite prepared for a bit of good old fashioned man-to-man “lion territory marking" with the guys here so it’s all fine.

No one is bothering me and in fact the ‘mehman nawazi’ has been above my expectations. Afghan Soldier obviously has an issue with me personally or with someone who thinks I’m. Either way I private messaged him and I hope we will get to the bottom of it, inshallah.

As for your question LOL...the honest answer is do we? And if we do...I honestly don’t know why...

But generally speaking (I feel like I owe you an answer) you’re obviously a young person and with age you will realize that everyone makes fun of another...stereotypes are there whether we like it or not. Don’t take it personally.

If i was to take seriously all the stereotypes some Pashtuns had about us, then I would consider myself to be less ghayrati than a Pashtun man or if I’m really paranoid I would be a beghayrat lol and my favourite I would be no taller than 5ft (afghan soldier just reminded me of this steortype).

Even within Pashtuns, I’m sure you have different steorotype about different tribes from Wardag or Kandahari etc. We also have stereotypes’ for different Tajiks, Kabulis (too liberal and azad) or Panjshir (funny accent, villager), Herati (too feminine and tight a$$ with money), Mazari (too hard headed and gullible).

What do you think of Pashto?

I'm starting to feel like an alien from another planet who has just been discovered by the Human race lol

Sholbomay Agha, first for full disclosure purposes I should state that I can't speak Pashto, I left Afghanistan at a young age, so I didn't go through schooling in Afghanistan or I’m sure I would have been fluent in Pashto.

I (and vast majority of Farsiwans) see Pashto as one of two languages of Afghanistan. We believe in an equilibrium where Pashto should be equal with Farsi. Both languages should be promoted by the state and respected by the populace equally.

However, I oppose any form of favouritism given to Pashto as “national language” by the state and any sort of favouritism given to Farsi as the ‘lingua franca’ by the media. Both of these discriminate.

I think this is one of the easier problems to solve; we just have to treat both equally! The problem starts when simultaneously the government discriminates against Farsi and promotes Pashto in official matters (such as govt buildings, parliament, bank notes and national anthem) and the media circles discriminates against Pashto and promote Farsi. Both of these actions piss off Farsiwan and Pashto Zabans and create unncessary tension and disunity.

I support anyone who I think is fair, ethnicity plays no role for me. For example I support Bashardost and he is Hazara.

But Ahmad Shah Masood cmon now we have videos that show his companions bashing us Pashtuns and he's just watching it. What kind of true leader watches the largest ethnic group of the country get bashed a lot? How can you support such a man? Is it just because he is from Panjsheer? No matter how horrible of a man he is, how many people he killed just cause he is Tajik he has to be supported?

I along with others always wanted to welcome you here. Your thoughts are not only respected here, but they are indeed appreciated by everyone. We embrace you not only as a Forum member but as a family member.
Malgare, the case of Ahmed Shah Masood should be handeled very carefully. True, he was one of those who rebelled against Sardar Dawud in Kunar and he was one of the people who opposed the People's Government in Kabul during the 80's. After the fall of Dr Najib's government he was one of the many people who destroyed Kabul. However, I want to caution you against seeing him as an anti-Pashtun figure. Thus:

Starting with 1995 till 2001, when the Afghan State and the Afghan polity were under danger from the Punjabi proxy militia of the Taliban, Ahmed Shah Massoud stood against the Punjabis and their comradors. Had it not been for him, the Afghan State would have been swallowed whole by the Pakistanis. I want to ensure you that the stability of the Afghan State is the biggest asset of the Pashtuns/Afghans. Without the Afghan State to speak for the Afghans and resusticate a nominal Afghan authority, there would have been no issue of massacres of the Pashtuns. Everything is subservient, in the current context, to the stability of the Afghan Republic.
Now, lets see how the legacy of Ahmed Shah Massoud effects the current situation. If we portray Massoud in a negative light, we risk losing the support of the Nprthern Afghans which shall effect the Afghan Republic very badly. Secondly, portraying Massoud as a positive figure ensures that the international community and the regional powers know that the Afghans are against the Taliban and terrorism and that terrorism is not intrinsic to Afghans but its roots are to the East. Thirdly, Massoud was decidedly anti-Pakistan and so are his political hiers. Need I remind you that anything anti-Pakistan is pro-Afghanistan. Fourthly, Massoud was involved in the Afshar Massacre of Hazars in 1993. Those days were the days of brutal civil war. Pashtuns killed Tajiks, Tajiks killed Hazars, Uzbegs killed Tajiks. We cannot blame one person for all these horrors. The true culprit is the one who sabotaged the National Reconciliation of Dr Najib, ie Pakistan. Fifthly, Massoud always spoke against the division of Afghanistan on ethnic basis. He clearly said that the real culprits in Afghanistan are the Pakistanis.
One more thing: I have said repeatedly that the Afghan Republic is the biggest asset of Pashtun/Afghans. That is why our enemies always seek to destroy this polity using ethnic divisions as one of their tools. Any idea or concept, how ever true, should be rejected if it damages the Afghan Republic.

I am scared of another civil war. I really am.

I would go for a Loy Afghanistan, I think we deserve our land back that was ours for much longer. But do you think that's possible?
I don't think that is going to happen. The real hand behind the civil war of the 1990s is being beaten to death by its own creation and stand exposed in front of the international community. Furthermore, no regional or international power has an interest in a civil war in Afghanistan.

You don't expect us to be quiet now do you?
That is not the correct picture. Pashto has official status in Afghanistan. Now that the Afghan Republic is working under a constitution, we can expect the development of Pashto. I would remind you, though, that the biggest culprit in this regard is Pakistan, because it has denied the knowledge of Pashto to the the majority of the Pashtuns ie those living in Lar Watan (Pakhtunkhwa). You cannot expect a language to develop when majority of the population faces the liguistic tyranny of alien languages such as Urdu.

Isn't it the epitome of degradation and wretchedness that a man can stand up in Afghanistan (home of the Pashtuns) and say all this?
