  • Pakistan is advancing into Afghan territory

Afghanistan on Monday asked Pakistan to immediately halt its unilateral construction and physical reinforcement activities along the Durand Line in eastern Nangarhar province.
Pakistani forces, which have reportedly started erecting security gates along the border between Lalpura and Goshta districts, have advanced into Afghan territory. Afghan forces had reached the site.

The Express Tribune has learnt that Pakistan has started construction of a gate well inside its territory along the border with Afghanistan and there had neither been any military activity nor any intrusion into Afghan soil.

An Afghan source in Ningarhar province said – via telephone – that Pakistan has laid foundation for the gate near Zero Point, some 35 kilometers away from Afghan border posts.

“Pakistani forces had not moved towards Afghani area and had been working on the construction in their own border area,” an Afghan journalist, who visited the border areas, told The Express Tribune. He requested not to be identified.

Why would an Afghan journalist call it "Afghani area" surely he'd know that was the currency

Lol, well spotted Adam and conveniently this Afghan journalist wishes to remain anonymous.

Let's hope it doesn't escalate into something bigger which I doubt it will.

Afghan and Pakistani government need to come to some sort of agreement where Pashtuns from both sides are able to travel unrestricted in pashtun areas of both countries. This way other ethnicities won't be able to complain and whine about is.

The only agreement that needs to be agreed with is breaking the Durand line because this situation is getting out of hand. Pakistan is meddling into afghan affairs a bit too much these days and the only way for Pashtuns to move forward in life is to unite.

another reason the afghan government is a joke. Why is the US ready to bomb afghans against the afghan government but is silent when pakis are intruding on afghan territory.

Agreed. The afghan government is turning into American politics. Karzai is talking all big and negative against America just because he is in his last term. I'm still mad over the is bomb raid yesterday in Kunar that killed 18 children and 12 women and yet they are still silent about this.
