Most Pashtuns here have no political backing. They come here alone as laborers and household servants so their families can't even avenge them. And they're up against a very organized gang. The MQM has divided Karachi into sectors and units and within minutes, it's members can reach any corner of the city armed and ready.

Thank you Levanaye Zalmaye especially for that time-line of the violence. I had no idea it had been going on for so very long. If it is common knowledge that MQM is behind this why does the govt. not punish them or ban them?

MQM has become a monster. a gang of dreaded criminals who can peel off anybody's skin alive. the govt is helpless against them for they are in coalition with PPP govt. And above all as Zalmay had pointed out MQM is very organised. There are instances of even target killing of each other's members by MQM and PPP in Karachi.
