i find that the only people who care deeply about pashtun genetics, skin color and the rest of this nonsense are not actually pashtun or afghan at all.

we are not indians or pakis, we have no complex superior, inferior, or otherwise, about our skin color or race or whatever the hell. for all thats wrong with our people, thank God almighty that this is not one of those things.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

What does Khyber Pass mean if Punjabis and/or Jatts have that thing that Pashtuns have...

BTW, Punjabi is not a race, it's a cultural and linguistic zone of people with different origins.... racially, most Punjabis come from Vedic clans or Jatts with a few minorities claiming to be Arab, or Turko-Mongol migrants, more recently pashtuns.

It may have to do with rivalry between Sikhs and Pashtuns in history. Generally in Punjab and south asia, light skinned features are looked as superior, this obviously triggers jealousy among them, because they know hardly any punjabis have those features. Inside their head they probably say, why do pashtuns have those features and not us? Wahe Guru seems to be having nightmares about this
this is not true. I know many Pashtuns claim that the Punjabis who do have those features have Pashtun blood in them. However, you will find that Punjabis with lght features more in rural areas, where people have stayed within the family for centuries. If that was the cas, you should have been able to find more of such people in Lahore, the Lahore Punjabis are more mixed yet most of them do not have light features. I belong to Central Punjab, and I know a guy who works all day in the sun yet his skin is just 1% more tanned than an Englishman, its reddish white. and he has a brown-blonde beard, his height is about 6'4''. If he were to shave and wear jeans he would look just like a German or an Englishman. I have been to Peshawar and I did not see anybody who looks more white/European than him. Similarly there are many more cases like this. I have seen many women with light eyes and skin so depigmented they had freckles. My point is, that you still find those features despite Punjab being a flat and very hot/sunny place. So please stop stereotyping and making yourself feel superior. Pashtuns are always playing the colour card, yet most of them have never been to interior Punjab. I am a Punjabi Syed, my ancestors were from Iran from my father's side, and Ghazni from my mother's side. Yes, many Punjabis do lie/fabricate their heritage but I have no reason to. My facial features resemble Pashtuns even though most people in my family do not have those features, yes they are light in skin as compared to other Punjabis but do not have Pashtun features in particular. Whereas with me, whenever I tell people in the UK I am from Pakistan, they always ask if I am Pashtun. I am not a wannabe nor do I have an inferiority complex I am just telling you the reality, and why you should not be so one sided.

And yes you are right about one thing. Many South Asians do say they are genetically close to Punjabis and most Pashtuns have Indic features. This is extremely hard for me to believe. Because being from Lahore, I have always recognized a Pashtun based on his looks, and most Pashtuns I have seen had very fair skin. The Pashtuns I studied with were whiter than white. So I find it very hard to believe that they are genetically and physically close to South Asians. However, when I went to Peshawar I was expecting to see more people like that but surprisingly the people there were not too different from Punjabis. But I guess that may be because Peshawar was originally a Hindko-speaking area, and the people have only become Pashtunized due to some influx of immigrants from the qabail and Afghanistan.

No, I have been all over Central Punjab and have seen many many people with light hair, light skin and light eyes, and most of them were from the rural areas, people who have not mixed with any Pashtun/British/foreigner for centuries. If according to how most people say, the lighter skinned Punjabis are a result of foreign blood, then you should have been able to find more of them in Lahore, a cosmopolitan city, however, there is a lower concentration of Punjabis there (ppl who have a higher chance to be mixed with other groups), than in the rural areas, ppl who have had little to no contact outside their respective genepools for centuries and centuries.....infact I have also seen people who are tall and light despite being from THE LOWER CASTES....

Firstly I am not Pashtun and second, you will find a odd punjabi with those features you mentioned, but the whole world knows most punjabis do not look like that. I am actually shocked at how much inferiority complex there is in Punjab, I dont understand the hatred of dark skin. Most Punjabis are dark skinned people like other indian groups and there is nothing to be ashmed of that.
