This particular vindictive mentality is pretty common in Pashtuns in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for the very obvious reasons. In my school, I was called 'da india agenta' because I was preaching Bacha Khan rather than Jinnah which looks like a herculean task when the 90+ class are the patriotic Pakistanis.
They will 'curse' you by calling 'nationalaye' which was an abusive term for them to vent out their frustration. This mentality is quite ubiquitous still, unfortunately.

Now you know why Khushal Khan referred to his fellow Pashtuns as dogs.

Bcoz these pakhtuns prefere to be called Pakistani than Pashtuns....they blame the nationlists for dividing the country,i.e the islamic atomic power, Pakistan....

I'd rather have an atomic siri paye or an atomic bum haseena than an atomic Islamic Pakistan.

There are many Punjabi leaders who more corrupt but punjabis wouldn't through them and favour a Pakhtun or Sindhi Balouchi against them....Nawaz and Zardari are equally blamed for corruption but still punjabis favours their punjabi leader and are throughing mud at Zardari only.....

Did your pashtuns in Afghanistan fight tribal wars against each other on a national scale? Did Khattaks kill yousafzais, or any other tribe in Pashtunkhwa? If this is what you think of your own people`s future after unity then essentially you are saying your people are not capable of uniting, or running a state.

BTW please stop saying annexing, we are one state divided in two. We are talking about unity, and here you are making it out to be Hitler`s third reich storming into Austria.

LOL....I have an almost similar incident. So this friend of mine was asking me to sing "Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan" and instead in our class I started "aye zama watana da laloona khazane" and after that the new addition---'communista'...
My parents had to bear the brunt of their teaching when our headmistress called my father....and my father gave her a long speech...lol

hmmmm i remember when i was in 10th class i got sever punishment from my Urdu Teacher ....there was a lesson in Urdu book "Quaid e Azam Muhammad ali Jinnah Soba Sarhad mein" when he asked me to read the lesson in a loud sound i read it as "Jinnah Pukhtoonkhwa mein".....by hearing this he became too angry....after that he used to call me congresseee...

The question is not about good or bad..the question is not about how much I am going to get if I stay with Afghanistan or Pakistan..the question is about unifying Pashtuns and the vanishment of all divisions which Brits did by using their divide-and-rule strategy.The question is to stop the sluaghtering of Pashtuns.The question is to make Pashto an official language and let 'lar au bar' Pashtuns utilize their natural, human, and process resources according to their own will.
If you are a true Pashtun, you will never care about the OUTCOME or any vested interest of being a part of so-called developed Punjab or the developing Afghanistan.

but am glad the present Govt; is trying to change that Textbooks. Faqir Api, Ghani Khan, etc have been included and lesson regarding pakhtun bravery are also added....i hope The Curriculam Wing Islamabad will accept the new Textbooks and we will be able to enforce them in Schools...Insha Allah

I agree with BLS.
From day one, we are brainwashed both from homes as well as in schools (my case is different as I was born in a Pashtun nationalist family).Your textbooks (the damn Pak study that I hated) glorify tales of Mughals, Pakistan Muslim League,and 3-4 chapters on Jinnah and Allam Iqbal.
Your children can't write and read Pashto since it is not taught in schools, except rural areas but not like we have URDU as a main subject for the rest of our lives.Even the spoken Pashto is full of urdu words. Infact my friends were used to avoid to talk in Pashto since they looked down upon it as they were students on English medium.
Your TV airs Pak patriotic songs 24/7.
Your kids don't know their leaders or Khushal Khan Khattak.
Your kids are taught ANP is a secularist/communist/India agent and hate it.
Your kids never sang Pashto songs until AVT Khyber came...
Above all, the parents are happy to serve as dogs to Panjabis boss!

And not to forget the PTV dramas which always showed Pashtun as Chowkidar and eating naswar...that was always something so unbearable to my mother (and could be to any Pashtun) that she decided not to keep a Chowkidar at home..lol

In my opinion I have seen many pro-ISI Pashtuns attempt to slaughter Achakzais image by saying he is an Afghan who wishes to balkanize Pakistan and what not.


The one thing I love about Mahmood Khan is that he considers himself nothing but a proud Afghan.

yea....these PTV dramas always tried to show pukhtun as a stupid creature....the role of pashtun is always a funny stupid Chowkidar,driver or often a Ghunda...who knows nothing but violence....The pakistani media's behaviour towards pakhtuns has always been humiliating...you won't believe ...that now a days the hindus make fun of Sardars in their SmS, the punjabis replace "Sardar" with "Pathan" and then sends these dirty, stupid short messages to other...and our so called pakistani pukhtun brothers proudly sends and recieve these enjoy and make fun of theirselves....too strange....
