how is it more so when the son is in the home and the daughter is not. Usually the sons father and mother help in taking care of their grandkids. their very involved in their sons life and vice versa. the daughter on the other hand is in another home. She is in another home taking care of another family.Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View PostWell in that sense then the same applies for the son, maybe even more so since the son shifts focus on his own family. This argument is vacuous at best. Since the actual "separation" doesn't exist for most cases.

Till some extent it is - I think there is one of books of Benedicte Grima in the Kitabtoon. She lived few years in a Pashtun villages in Pakistan.Originally posted by khushal View PostPashtun life in the village is not really documented so there is no document I could provide.
Also Fredrik Barth, but I am not sure if there is any of his books in our library.دلته دم او قدم دواړه په حساب دي - پل په لاره غلط مه ږده بې حسابه

Just for the record. I believe that much needs to be done for women rights in pashtun society. I don't believe that pashtunwali is actually an obstacle for womens rights as RTR believes. PAshtunwali evolves to the situation at hand.Originally posted by یاسمینه View PostSo if Khushal says that women are respected I, have no right to deny, because he is a Pashtun and I believe that such knowledge comes from his experience. Plus, my friends also confirm his words.
The same with you. If you say that situation of women is bad, I also know you say the truth.
PAshtunwali does promote the protection of women and it is the people that have a different perception of protection is. The taliban thought the best way to protect them was to keep them indoors or be accompanied by males family members becasue of the extreme situation at hand of what was happening during the civil war of 92-96. PAshtunwali does not promote keeping women indoors, it is the people that think this is the best way to protect them.
There are pashtun men that think the best way to protect women is to educate them, does this conflict with pashtunwali, no it does not as long as his intent is to protect them. Education is empowering them, empowering them is protecting them. so it would not conflict with pashtunwali. Concepts like these need time to catch on like it did in the west. it can not be done overnight. it is done through awareness and understanding.Last edited by khushal; 03-06-2013, 05:40 PM.

that is why it is called a theory, stoopid. it is a possibility, that has not been proved nor disproved. which therefore does not mean it is untrue.Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View Post
Conspiracy Theories aren't people following independent knowledge, it's just an excuse for people to justify made up delusions.
just like the theory of evolution.

And I don't care for the legitimacy (I doubt that is any) of your thread, I am questioning the trash that you have been quoted on. If you weren't such a dumb ass, you wouldn't always assume things on people's behalf.
Good day
So your a medical student, wow! can I have your autograph? Lol don't flatter yourself

You did by sanctioning forced marriages; I've never advocated or promoted any form of pornography .unless you're using the backwards Pashtunwali standards that the mere presence of a woman is a sex act. Then I can understand why you're confused on this issue; woman hating cultures tend to have such warped and twisted views.
Actually no a person who is nonconsenting is always rape, it's you who would think nonconsent is ok.
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
If you think its OK to post pics of women in sex acts than take a pic of your mom in a sex act and post it on here because in your mind thats empowerment and forward thinking.

was princess diana killed by order from royalty? was kennedy assassinated by government? are all the videos supposedly of osama bin laden acually of him or some fakes?
those who have questioned 9/11 are considered 'conspiracy theorists' but now there are more than a thousand 'clever people', demanding a proper investigation.
maybe they are right and that it was done by detonation and may be an inside job. you got proof it ain't?
now stop being a hysterical boor, some conspiracy theories are fun.
