Why were the Taliban against foreign food aid?

Why did the Taliban keep denying emergency food aid from the UN World Food Program? Why do they still deny Western food aid in areas under their control? Many years ago, I once read that they accused the food of being poisoned or causing sterility. I want to do more research into the matter.

I want only informed answers not opinions or what you feel or believe.

Any sources about this subject would also be appreciated.

I was just thinking that since I am not an Afghan and most of you are, you would have more of a clue. Any events actually take place in some village or area, leading people to believe the food was unsafe?

use your common sense, if you are at war with someone, would you want their food?? if you want your nation to oppose another one, would you want the people of your own country to be dependent on their aide?? who would your people support?? and it's possible that those food supplies could contain harmful ingredients..
