Atheism is one extreme, Taliban the other. Golden mean is secularism.
Religion for beliefs, worship and ethics, Pashtunwali for culture and society while democracy , capitalism or socialism etc for politics and economy. This will be the ideal situation.

There are many Pashtuns secularists but very few atheists.

Ask the people around the world, how did secularism, democracy as it is preached by many bettered their situation.

Who lives in this earth as a free man ?

The thinker will be never free to express ideas of freedom, true freedom.
Secularism does enslave the people,it does not free them.

High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

Even online they have multiple accounts (we all know about Soldats countless profiles/names) which makes them look out to be more in number, ovcourse every now and then they have their little cronies like Hallo that thank their posts, but even the little cronies have fake accounts and could be anyone, these people are 2 faced bigots with superficial split personalitys that cannot be trusted in real life or the virtual world.

An example of their typical twisted understandings: "Your name is Mohammad? YOUR AN ISLAMIST!!"...."You follow BASIC Islamic beliefs?? YOUR A FANATIC"..."What!! you have a beard?? YOU TERRORIST"

In short don’t worry about these lost souls, rather laugh at them for being stuck in a dimension that is neither here or there.
Man, you have severe identity crisis due to failure to adopt and integrate, are living in some London/Bradford ghetto underachieved and feeling insecure as indicated by the distrust you expressed many times here about the character of your family members and constant complains of victim-hood---Of course one should be on guard against such psychopaths.

I don't think you fit a modern life-style like UK ---even the backward Saudi society would be more progressive for your taste I am sure---So do something to help yourself with the feelings of insecurity, guilt, impiety, and victim-hood before life becomes utterly unbearable for you---

I would like to give my two cents on this issue.

First of all I am not trying to defend member Toramana, but he has never once denounced the existence of the lord all mighty. I understand his views on contemporary Islam. The Taliban and most Afghans/Pakistani's follow a version of Islam that they believe was the way in the 600's. And this is clearly wrong; most Muslims have never, ever, I mean ever, read the Quran in their native tongue and only connect with Islam via Arabic recitations; listening to a mullah in a lecture. They than go and judge/compare their deen to others, and that is a grave sin.

Democracy, is a voting system that counts citizens votes and tally the winner. That is a halal form of government if you ask me. But just like Shariah, Democracy isn't fully in motion anywhere.

...when I read stuff like this, one thing comes to my mind:

            boneheads have always disliked diversity.

1500 years ago when Islamic Armies where invading Afghanistan, I am sure that some of our ancestor boneheads was talking about "leaving their believes" and "accepting kufr" (from their point of view which was Islam FOR THEM!) as unacceptable.

People change with time and we live in times now where no one should be persecuted for what he believes or not believes.

I know alot of Pashtun atheist who are quiet open about it and although I don´t share their point of view, I respect their views.

No one should follow something because his fathers were following it.
No one should uphold something that was passed to him but he can´t identify with.

If that was the case, Islam itself wouldn´t have existed since the Prophet (sws) himself went against the polytheistic believes of his ancestors.

So think first before bragging about Pashtuns being the spearhead of Islam and stuff.
            The only constant is change.
