When the revolution happened, the commies hunted down dauds supporters and western educated people, killed and dumped them in unmarked mass graves. So your saying the 2 million people killed was prapoganda. I can understand someone defending the American invasion, but it takes extreme lack of compassion to defend the soviet invasion or the communist revolution. That piece of Shyt Karmel should have met the same fate as Najib and hung from the streets of Kabul.
But somehow your whole family is still alive????
And by the way those 2 milion deat are not only caused by communist your mujhahid borthers have also there own share of killings on there hands.

        no some died.
the majority were killed by carpet bombing and indiscriminate fire from helicopters. The majahadeen did not have the weapons to mass kill like that.

          @ kushal

well i can just tell so far , what i have witnessed and seen .

if you are in a bad situation , and you come in a much worser situation , you will think the bad situation which passed was not that bad ,compared to the actual one ...

the heros turned into monsters after 92 , which were just as worse as the ones they claimed to fight ...

I dont know where your from, but from the rural perspective, what happened after 92 was nothing compare to the russian onslaught. What most people dont understand is that the cities were safe durring the russian invasion while millions were killed and many more were maimed in the rural areas. After 92 it was the opposite where the rurals were relatively stable(that was the time when we were rebuilding) and the cities were being destroyed. It is false and a myth to say that most afghans suffered during the 92-96 civil war and everything was rosy during the soviet occupation(which is the urban perspective). Most of the urban population did suffer during the 92-96 war but no one should confuse or try to undermine the suffering that happened during the soviet occupation.

Those monsters that you talk about were created by the brutal Soviet occupation. Karmel and Najib should have never allowed the Soviets to do such crimes against their own people.

kushal , maybe you are right ....

but no one forced the glorrious mujahedin to kill , to slaughter , to plunder , to burn down , to steal , and to kill each other ....they did it by their own !!!

besides just go to kandahar and also the sorrounding "rural " areas and ask them how it was after 92 and before the taliban came ....

the onslaught which you talk about , is it soo much different than the bombing and erridication of villages today ? how many times ,100 people , 200 people were killed at once in the last decades , i am sure it was more than once ..

i can not remember that qurans were burned in the sowjet union , i can not remember that muslims were called animals , i can not remember that rasulallahs
cartoons were made and called art or freedom of speech , or that people called to slaughter all afghans , it is one thing to kill people and another thing to humiliate them

i can read alot of anger and pain , because it affected you personally ....it affected us all , everyone , i can not remember anybody , who didnt lost first grade relatives ...
                families , friends ....

i always considered you as one of the most sophisticated users here , and i still do , but i can also see how deep your pain is
