  • Number of Taliban Killed

I tried to research the number of Taliban fighters killed by both Nato and Karzai forces but haven't been able to find any estimates or figures.
The BBC says it does not bother publishing Taliban casualty figures.
Recently, some of you have been in touch about how we report casualties in Afghanistan, some of those messages following Jon Williams' recent post here on the death of British journalist Rupert Hamer. As a response, my colleague Caroline Wyatt, BBC defence correspondent, has written a post on our reporting of Taliban casualties.

50 000 according to the AP counts and U.S and the puppet government information.

Just like in the Soviet war, the vast majority that are killed are civilians. The guerillas are masters at ambushing and then fleeing.

when an area is bombed and everyone is dressed in the same clothes, talibs and civilians, what does one count? and after an airstrike in a talib stronghold, who is one the ground shortly afterwards counting bodies?

                  its all guesswork.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

The real numbers are between 4 to 6000 taliban fighters killed or wounded in action.
The massacre is included (of Dashta in northern Afghanistan).

true but 2010's claim that only 6000 Talibs have been killed is clearly a joke

he doesn't factor in Pakistani recruits to replace the ones who passed away

2010 Admitting he's a blind believer not in God, but what other men says.

I can just count on local sources...but this number is vague...i even believe they are few...cause most casualties were inflicted on the poor afghan civilians.
