As for as I know afghan and Pashtun are the two names of one nation, hence the name afghanistan. There was no nation named as Pakistani nation before the creation of Pakistan, while Pashtun, Baluch, Sindhis, Seraikis, Bengalis, Punjabis are nations who existed centuries before the creation of Pakistan on their respective historical lands.
There isn't an inch of the land which solely belongs to Pakistan, because is just a name for the lands of these historical nations. And as you all know Pakistan is not a nation state unlike Germany, France, Holland, Italy, China, Japan etc. That is why we hear terms like Pakistani Punjabi, and Pakistani Pashtuns, since many Punjabis live in India and Afghanistan is the mother land of all Pashtuns.
Patriotism is by definition is ones loyalty towards ones motherland or homeland. This new definition of patriotism which means allegiance to state not necessarily a nation state and which in many cases may be ruled by colonialists is just a fallacy, a deception with the aim to stop people of the land rise against the illegitimate rulers.Last edited by khyaal; 07-05-2010, 04:51 PM.

Actually many of them have been brainwashed or you might call them as zombies (the undead creatures often in the english movies) created by means of the tactics of social engineering, so they have lost all of their originality and their analytical faculties and just speak the recorded mesaages which have been inculcated by the state controlled electronic media, its false history books or in many cases through other oppressive means like censor of real history, harassment, killing or exile of genuine leadership.Originally posted by KandaharyRespected Khyaal.
What do you think of Pakistan and people saying they are patriotic Pakistani Pashtuns? do you think both of these concepts contradict each other, if yes why? a nice long answer would be appreciated
So these are the means which has kept Pakistan so far after the 1971 debacle which resulted in the division of that Pakistan which was created in 1947, and thus Bangladesh emerged as a separate country.Last edited by khyaal; 07-05-2010, 04:52 PM.

Thank you graana wrora
Pashtun were even termed as Patriotic citizens of the British India during the British occupation of this part of the Afghanistan. So this state patriotism works as long as tactics of suppression, bribes, media sensor and concealment of the real history are being used.
Look at this link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ali_Haidar). This Havaldar Haidar Ali fought for the British in Italy and was awarded with the hightest military honour. Now just tell me what Pashtuns had to do with the Italians? What reason this man could find to fight against the Italians? Obviously he like many other Pashtuns had no reason to fight in Turkey, the Middle East or other far flung countries of the world. Havaldar Haider Ali was termed as one of the most Patriotic citizens of the British India.
Now just tell me could any sane and reasonable person call this act as Patriotism? This was simply a need, a necessity which forced the poor Haidar ali and many others to fight for their colonial masters. Same is the case with those Pakistani Pashtuns which call themselves as state patriots who knowingly or unknowingly work for their colonial masters or in other words their own enemies.

Look wrora! In a country in which majority of the Pashtun population has been turned into fatalist which attritube all of its miseries and bad social conditions as resulted from the will of God or an ordeal from God due to sins they commit, when they tell openly they are unhappy will be an outright blasphemy. And what else should be the role of Tablighis than supplying soporific drugs to these needy and destitute people to keep the wretched pashtuns for ever asleep!Originally posted by YusufzaiI have noticed many Pashtuns from Pakistan here are very happily claiming that they are treated good and that the state cares for them a lot.
What are your views on this Khyaal?

You will find only a very small minority who for their vested interests support Pakistan. Majority of the people have been in a state of paralysis and coma who didn't know what to do. All this happened due to the laxity or perhaps the dishonest role of one so-called pashtun nationalist party which compromised on its principles and opted to join the agenda of the Punjabi establishment than to carry on resistence against the Punjabi oppressor.Originally posted by PashtunQueenKhyaal,
Pashtuns of Pakistan claim that they will remain loyal to the state if such people are present in our modern Pashtun Era is Pashtunistan ever possible?
How can we fix such brainwashed people?
But now we believe that things are rapidly changing and a substantial portion of the Pashtun population is now becoming more and more conscious of its pashtun/afghan identity.

Yes, why not. This IS our ultimate goal to realize. But much hard work is required to raise the political consciousness of the Pashtun population of the Occupied Pakhtunkhwa and there is a very strong need of political stability inside Azad Afghanistan.Originally posted by JasmineKhyaal what do you think of LOY Afghanistan.
Is it possible?
And what do you think of the durrand treaty

The Durand line treaty was signed in the wake of brute force of the British imperialists. Actually this was a forced agreement. But to repeal the wretched line Pashtun/afghans of both sides have to work hard for the stability of Azad Afghanistan. Much depends on the stability of afghanistan.

No Pashtun is happy when he sees how blatantly Pakistan extorts their natural resources and violates their due rights.Originally posted by JasmineKhyaal,
How do you feel when Pashtuns say they are happy with Pakistan because they have a large presence in the army, politics, and etc?
Can you please give me the statistics of their large presence in the army? Pakistan though in principle a federation doesn't release such figures just in case this should expose Punjab's complete hegemony over other nations of this so-called federation.
In Politics Pashtuns were already dominant in their own province even when they were ruled by the British. Pashtuns nationalists had won both elections of 1937 and 1946. Although it was another matter that Mr. Jinnah dismissed the elected provincial government of Pashtuns through an ordinance.
Later on Pakistani establishment severely tortured the whole Pashtun leadership a practice which was going on til recent times.
