            his anger stems from ignorance...

i'm not going to sit here and point fingers at one group.. or blame religion for everything that has happened to Afghanistan...

these pics are a false image of afghanistan in those times and a distortion of the idea of "progress." i am sure that the thread starter didn't mean to present these pics as such but many people will take it that way.

i may come off as an ******* here, but its not really because of the pics but rather the responses to them.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

most of this was superficial and cosmetic and often restricted for very narrow sampling of the population.

it was also mangled up in a type of cultural subservience associated with it. Which makes it sort of a back handed reflection of progress more than the real deal.

It is fair to say, that we all have our own little theories...but the above images did begin to emerge at that set period..

I have seen many more photos...such as the above ones..from that period of time.. but obviously.. i can't post them as there would be many..angry people..

Most are still in Afghanistan... some are dead.. some.. moved out..

If you are going to deny any of this.. then that would make me really suspicious.. about your background..

like many people in the professional field which was isolated to a very small contingent of kabulis, some worked under the communists but most ran.

yeah even if life was like that back then it would be safe to assume that it was like it in kabul, because we have some pic from the south my fam pics, they dress the same in the late 70s as they do now, just then they stood funny like statues lol
