I think there is another side to these reports… the Negotiations over the long-term US military presence in Afghanistan beyond 2014 are due to commence in few week…these reports could lay the ground work...I even think we might see another cry from Setamis/Federalist----Exactly what happen before and during negotiation of strategic pact. The Americans are looking after their interests as any adult would and should. We'll need to figure out what those interests are and choose which of them we can align ourselves with and which of them we must refuse to acquaint ourselves with.

Dear Osho, excuse me, but it surprises me how You think.Originally posted by osho View PostWe have two choices Taliban or Karzai(USA). I will prefer 100 times karzai to Taliban. Karzai is not perfect but he is lesser evil. Yes Taliban were created by others including US in their national interest at that time but now like frankenstein monster they are trying to kill Taliban and we must enforce USA to fight successfully against our common enemy at this juncture of time.
Taliban second take over will face the same fate as of the first take over then why repeating the history in a viscious cycle. Taliban are not made for this modern world. They can have a limited sphere of influence but can never ever last. All of us are convinced hat how Taliban can survive in an island in this globalized world?
As I hear from people till now almost every government in Afghanistan failed due to cruelties and dur to forein influence from neighbours and from outern powers. Also You yourself are aware of the role of the USA before their conflict with Talibs and after.
Both alternatives You mention seem to have great problems, and in that case I see only one solution. The serach of a creation of an alternative from inside.
America will never resolve your problems. It makes my eyes full of tears to see how what a brutal play these powers do with a country and still people continue hoping in its justice.Ա՜խ, ընկել եմ քար ու քարափ,

It seems that this Tashfin has not taken the rules seriously which were agreed and affirmed by Admin Khan and Tor_Khan, highlighted in Barakzai's thread which is present in the Support section.
This is a BOT, and thus, I expect corrective order to be done, and a ban in place until Tashfiin agrees to discuss as an individual rather than an organization- or agrees to only post news sources instead of official press releases meant for propaganda, and meant to prevent discussion on this forum about important matters such as peace and ANTI-WAR. Freedom and independence, Opposition to occupation. These are all right issues...and no form of suppression of this talk through threatening press releases (meant to show that even the forum is occupied) can be tolerated at all.
We do not have Taliban here making press releases, and thus, again keeping in line with the academic nature of this forum that the Administration has affirmed, this can not be tolerated.Last edited by Shah-i-Kot; 10-05-2012, 01:14 PM.

Thanks Tor_KhanOriginally posted by tor_khan View PostDigital Outreach. Gone.
Tasfin is welcome, according to forum rules to discuss the positions taken as an individual like Soldat/RTR/Scimitar/Toramana , but I guess Tashfin was not interested to do so...Last edited by Shah-i-Kot; 10-05-2012, 03:15 PM.

Even 3 years ago people were anxious about Afghanistan, what has happened since?
1. Karzai has left office and there has been a peaceful and legal transition of power to a new leader and government.
Pakistan in its 70 year history only managed to do this once i.e. 2 years ago when the Zardari regime handed power to Punjabi Taliban supporter, Nawaz Sharif.
2. The institutions of the Afghan national government are stronger and support for the Taliban/insurgents is decreasing.
3. The Americans (whom I detest) haven't left and are still in the country and even their new departure date foresees a large US military presence in Kabul to protect their embassy.
4. The Turks are in Afghanistan and view part of it as part of the wider Turkic world e.g. Uzbeks, Turkmens and even the non-Turkish speaking Mongoloid Hazaras.
- Turkey trains the Afghan army
- Turkey trains Afghan police
So for all the Taliban supporters constantly criticizing the Kabul government for being an artificially "propped up" and "illegitimate" entity, why no criticism of Turkey for sustaining this supposedly "evil" organization?
One reason is that Turkey and Pakistan are allies, so the Taliban as a Pakistani-run organization will not openly criticize Pakistan's ally, Turkey.
Turkey will never abandon its blood brothers in Afghanistan i.e. the Uzbeks and Turkmens to the pro-Pakistan, Taliban.

Dostum with the head of Turkish army, Necdet Ozel.

Turkey trains the Afghan army.
5. China is stronger and is working slowly but steadily towards a post-US global order and views combatting "Islamic" radicalism near its western province of Xian Jiang as a vital national security issue.
6. Iran may (or maybe not) gain an end to sanctions and relative normalcy in its relations. A stronger Iran is good for anti-Taliban forces in Afghanistan.
7. India is growing economically and since this thread was started has sent a space mission to Mars. It will not allow the collapse of the Kabul government.
8. Afghans are more well off, better educated than they were 3 years ago and are thus less interested in the backwards Taliban who have little to offer them.
- The ANA (Afghan National Army) has taken areas of Afghanistan which even NATO couldn't from the Taliban.
- The NDS have infiltrated the Taliban extensively.
There may be some setbacks here and there but the current Afghan government is supported by every foreign power that matters e.g. China, USA, Russia, India, Turkey and Iran and only has one major enemy, Pakistan.
Even Pakistan's friends China and Turkey will pressurize it not to allow a Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.Last edited by Bengal_Tiger; 05-04-2015, 07:28 AM.* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
