Islam as a religion or way of life can´t be attacked and doesn´t need to be defended because no one can controle the opinions of others.

The prophet Mohammed (sws) doesn´t need anyone to defend him or his legacy.
The fact that billions of people follow in his foot steps is evidence enough and the fact that he is dead for 1400 years now makes clear that he can´t be attacked physically either.

It´s time for Muslims to grow up.
    The only constant is change.

Laws can prevent people from such crimes and the west has done great work regarding this. For example in Germany you can not go and insult someone on the road, can you ? You can not use abusive words on someone, can you ?
In the same way, laws should be made regarding this as well.

Insulting a living human being and cititzen is one thing, insulting a philosophy, religion or a prophet is another thing.

If I say "They things you believe in are crap!", it´s not an insult by legal means.
If I say "Friend, you are douchebag!", then you can sue me.
        The only constant is change.

It means what is insulting to me is not insulting to you. Western approach towards ethics and humanity is different than that of ours.
Walking naked on the road or doing something unethical is not a crime in the west but in the Muslim world one even can't think about such.

Actually, walking naked is a crime in the west, too.
            Atleast in Germany.

And you said something really important:
not everyone shares your believe and your moral and ethical conduct.

So why expecting them to do so?

Why getting angry and killing your own people in protests because someone across the globe doesn´t respect you or the religion that you practise?
            The only constant is change.

emkhan are you saying that everything which happens in the muslim countries is ethical and moral?
they do things in muslim countries which are not moral and ethical in the eyes of your religion. why do you keep speaking as though only muslims have the moral high ground, when so many dreadful human rights abuse, including torture, murder, corruption and more, are committed in those countries.

I don't think a law will be able to do much... as we are talking about opinion guys...

For example.. In my opinion.. someone is an idiot. now you can't make me change my opinion based on.. making a law...about it...

Opinion is a different thing. If a person says something in his bedroom or drawing room about someone or something, nothing can be done against him or her but if someone openly says something on media then that can be brought under the legal proceedings. What this person did was not his opinion but he made a movie.
