  • An informative article on the Turmoil.

    A brief resurfacing.

A wonderful article by Glenn Greenwald on the world round protests:
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisf...p/14/egypt-nbc

At the bottom of this link or here:
Inside Story: US 2012 - The political fallout of the Libya attack - YouTube#!

We see a set of excellent interviews at Al Jazeera. The most impressive speaker in this forum is Yale prof Dr. Hillary Mann Leverett, though Muslim professor Jon Brown of Georgetown, and Mr. Greenwald do a good job as well.

I think Dr. Mann Leverett's emphasis on how the super powers have a set of hand picked emigre/expatriots who they flout as the saviours of the target nations (e.g. Cuban emigre elites from Batista's era) but who are completely out of touch with the rural masses completely explains the miserable failures of Mr Karzai and Mr. Zardari as well. Her most important statement starts at 19 minutes and 17 seconds.

Those who are obsessing about how the Egyptian on the street is ignoring the ayaah about leaving a gathering in which Islam is derided as a pacifist show of protest, or trying to educate "the little brown brothers abroad" about how Muhammad (S) reacted in Taif are missing the mark. I find it rather sad that it takes Mr. Greenwald to dissect cause and effect when we should already be aware that these going ons have little to do with religion, but much to do with religion being the vehicle of political objectives.

John Brown's discussion of the court case and the burning crosses is pretty informative as well.

    Enjoy.

    And back to the grind.

“There’s a really fundamental flaw in U.S. strategic policy … and it has to do with empire. We look at each country, at each place, and we see the expatriates that we want to see in the cafés in Paris, who parrot our line about secular liberalism, and we arm, fund, and train them to go back and, in effect, impose a political order on those societies that have very different histories, characters, cares, and concerns. … Those expatriates we listen to repeatedly — in Iraq, Iran, Libya, everywhere — we listen to them not because we’re stupid but because we have a very determined focus for dominance.”

all the imperialists had a determined focus for dominance. that is nothing new. no doubt they all have a history of manipulation, backstabbing and oppression, even of their own.
      the islamic imperialists certainly have.
america even interfered in australia and new zealands politics.
the question, on that particular issue, is why are they able to manipulate and interfere?

the question about revenge for blasphemy is to do with religious beliefs and the lack of understanding of religious beliefs.
fatwas against those who don't say the right thing, murder of women for the supposed sake of honour, the dutch movie maker being assassinated, outrage and deaths over pathetic cartoons and this issue, are not to do with american interference in muslim countries.

Empire stupid Faye. That is why.

This whole turmoil is a result of ill feeling building up from the past. There was a huge upset from the muslim world about the cartoon "southpark" depicting the prophet Mohamamd(pbuh) a few years back and the comedy central channel had to censor it. But they did the same thing pre 911 and there was no response from the Muslim world.

no, of course, their own behaviour could not possibly be their responsibility. only people of the west are supposed to take resposibility, for their own and all the muslims actions.
so how far in the past khushal? what is the 'root'?

^the root is that muslims hate the West. They just hate Westerners Faye. Even the ones living in the west and recive welfare hate Europeans and US peopel. And when something like this happens thay are just burst out and smash everything. There is no other explanation. And by the way when Salman Rushdi worte a book about Islam, that lets say it was not really nice. I didn't see Pakistan flag burning on the streets, you know why? becuase most of the peopel didn't hate Pakistan. They just hated Rushdi for it. So if you think why is this sudenly violence happens is not about there love for Islam thats just noncense, they hate the West they blame the West for every missery in there live so when they get the chance to release the anger they do it.

^^You failed to answer why the West is hated.

FYI: Salman Rushdie was an indian national before becoming a Brit national, He was never a Pakistani national.

the west bruised their pompous self deluded ego by taking advantage of their weaknesses which they themselves allowed to happen by being lazy, anti-progressive and incompetent.

^^so it is the native americans fault that they were exterminated because they were too lazy or incompetent to even reach the bronze age of civilization.

what does that have to do with Muslims?

Native Americans were as Muslims like to say "kufar jahils" we're supposed to know better; we have no excuse, they do.

your saying that when wrong is done, the victim should be blamed for not being smart enough.

when that victim knows better and has been warned about slacking and falling behind; then yes that victim should be blamed for allowing things to happen to them

the contextual differences between Natives and Muslims are worlds apart , we created our own weaknesses

there was a golden age in islam where intelligent thinking was done. why has that not been handed down through the eras, so that you can't blame lack of intelligence
and lack of knowledge of their own religion, on people who behave badly?
why do many muslim countries, end up being run by obnoxious dictators and armies?

if the response is natural, then the cause of the response must be natural too, going by your logic.
