incidently the mantra of extreme right wing parties in the west is 'voluntary repatriation of legalised passport holding immigrants'. luckily for those immigrants the main stream parties have allowed the passport holders to remain in their countries.

basically they want to kick out indians pakistanis, bangladeshis and other blacks and the soft way is 'voluntary repatriation', the alternative is rioting based on racism.

pakistan is a muslim country, it offered refuge to its muslim neighbours, now they want to kick them out

let these couple of million Afghans stay, these muslims help your economy and your country. makes the A in pakistan bigger.

He is not so dumb, he knows the hypocrisies of the Pashtun leaders on both sides.

If someone takes refuge in Pushtunkhwa from Hindustan/Pakistan, they will be considered refugees or immigrants. But all Pushtuns are one nation and Pushtunkhwa is home to all lar ao bar Pushtuns - no Afghan will be considered an outsider in Pushtunkhwa.

These are just pressure tactics employed by Pakistani authorities to pressure Afghanistan---politics between the two countries. Nothing is going to happen in the end. Last time, I went Afghans were well entrenched all the way from Peshawar to Karachi doing businesses and other jobs.

                  Da tola hot air di.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

B***s***, Every Afghan is an immigrant in Pakistan. Afghans are not allowed to work in Pakistan. They do not allow you to get any sort of job there. Afghans can't own land or open up businesses under their own name, how are they not kadwal? They are abused by the police, dokandar, bank teller, and everyone else every single day and they are not immigrants? They are thrown into trucks, beaten and then taken to Torkham.

I would love to see Paki government kicking or pushing out Afghans out of Pakistan. Afghans need to go back to their country. After all the security situation in both countries is the same, so why not go back and strengthen your own country.

I think this problem exists on both sides of Durand Line e.g., the Afghan consulate in Peshawar issues 114 visas daily. Most of the time, the number of applications for visa exceeds that limit. And one has to go to the consulate very very early in the morning in order to get a visa or has to wait for many days.

Although, it is true that Afghans officially cannot own property, still there are many who un-officially own property. Furthermore, many own businesses. I think many in the Afghan leadership (esp from Jehad era e.g., Burhanuddin Rabbani, Gulbuddin, Haqqanis, even the royalists) own property in Pakistan although it is true that generosity has not been extended to the common Afghan for obvious reason of motivated state policy.

I think many will settle in KP etc. permanently. In Quetta, many have settled already. Rather it was a contested issue between Pashtun politicians like Mahmoud Khan Achakzai and Baluch leadership the former supporting settlement of Afghans in Quetta whereas the later opposing it (due to perceived demographic disadvantage to Baluch).

Can Pashtuns from KP or FATA or Southern Pukhtunkhwa own land/property in Afghanistan? I am sure they cannot.

I think there should be pressure put on govts both sides of the border to relax the visa regime (rather open border policy) and allow leasing of property if not allow ownership. I think, full citizenship rights must be extended to Afghans-Pashtuns in KP, FATA, and Baluchistan. It also makes sense that if conditions become better in Afg than in KP, FATA, etc. many will like to return.

Conditions are better in Afghanistan than KPK. There's more business opportunities in Afghanistan than in KPK, there's more professional jobs in Kabul/Jalalabad/Herat and many other provinces than in KPK, there's more money than there is in KPK. Weather is a lot better, there's electricity and gas and life is getting a lot better than in KPK but Afghans who have lived in Pekhawar have no intention of leaving. I still have family and friends and they show no interest in moving back.

I also have relatives that live in KP but the main reason they wont go back is that KP offers them better education and medical facilities, plus they have been there since early childhood and they feel settled in.

There is a huge Kabuli community that have settled in peshawar.
