  • history of 4 decades deleted!!!

The BBC's Bilal Sarwary says that there has been an impassioned reaction in Afghanistan to plans by the government to introduce new history textbooks which allegedly pass over or ignore key moments of the country's history.

it raised a question with me, how are we meant to teach history when the 4 different ethnicities of the country have different views on how it happened? how do we reach facts and biased opinions apart? this i fear will be to much for afghanistan to do...

there is nothing worth learning from what has been happening in the last 40 years so why confuse everyone and glorify the actions of thieves and murderers by giving them a place in history books??

khori i think its still important for the the children to learn what thier country has been through, its a part of them and thier parents lives, its like deleting a memories bad or good but if we delete them then what do we become, its a part of us gone... i am against how they have gone and done this, i am sure there is another approach we can use where it dosnt dis-unify the countrymen against each other

Just because it's not being taught doesn't mean people will have amnesia all of a sudden. Besides, whose point of view would this history be told from?? Do we really want that?? To give an opportunity to people we don't trust with our government to educate our children on this "history"??

the other thing america does, is send special envoys for afghanistan and pakistan, such as marc grossman and richard holbrooke, who are/were linked to multinational companies that advise on where to invest money.
holbrooke, who has since died, was connected to 'national security solutions' and grossman, to 'the cohen group'.
their envoy to iraq in 2004 was james baker involved in the carlyle group.
                  no ulterior motives, of course

well as long as it gets the OK from the foreign "cultural advisers" all is well then

                    shame on these spineless afghans.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
