I don't speak on behalf of Khostai, Lewanay Zalmay or anyone else, but I know for a fact Khostai and lewanay zalmay are equally against American Militarism as they're against the over taking of fanatic opportunists. This false dichotomy of being against Fanatics means supporting Americans is a long abused fallacy on here
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
Who claims that? instability is caused by both sides. Fanatic opportunists exist because of Western militarism. You take away the cause, and the effect will disappear.Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View PostI don't speak on behalf of Khostai, Lewanay Zalmay or anyone else, but I know for a fact Khostai and lewanay zalmay are equally against American Militarism as they're against the over taking of fanatic opportunists. that's debatable, I believe the Western Scapegoat has been overused as an excuse. There are certain very pertinent facets which cannot be explained by western interventionalism.
also consider that if we take that explanation as the sole and complete one; that means
1.) Fanatics like the Taliban are not actually home grown but foreign implanted
2.) that they do not actually represent their people as people like you have claimed
3.) That they're really a wing/of Western Intervantionalism
so if we take that narrative as wholly true( I agree to its partial truth, and when I say partial I mean a small part), then it still backfires and shows that they'll still be a problem regardless.
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
National interest comes before any thing before any ideology or any moral, political or social pursuit. The Wahabi dictators in Saudi are still useful to USA that's why they support them. They used to support Saddam against Iran but when Israel comes they prefer doing away with Saddam. These are the real and harsh realities of Realism, power politics and balance of Power.
When there is no clash between national interest and ideology one including USA goes for the ideology. They will promote democracy in countries like Syria, Egypt, Libya, Latin America etc. A day will come soon that they will promote democracy in Saudi, Qatar and Kuwait(all slafai/wahabi dictatorial states).
I prefer USA at least they are promoting (whenever and wherever it suits them)democracy and not Communism, Wahabism or other tyranical political system.
Afghans should also learn from this and follow realism with a bit of idealism and they will also become one day a super power. The same was adopted by Arabs and they almost conquered almost the whole known world at that time by the name of Islam while they themselves were brutal dictators not any pious Muslim saints.Last edited by Badlun; 08-03-2012, 03:01 PM.

Osho, but such a strategy is not spiritual or moral and would contradict the beliefs of Islam's morality to participate in such things. How do you reconcile such a practice if Islam teaches only morality to engage in such political practices which contradict Islamic Ethics?
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
Idealism or Islam teaches not to do so but the harsh reality of Realism is that always big powers have used a slogan, an idea, a religion or a soft image to achieve real goals like conquests and wealth.Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View PostOsho, but such a strategy is not spiritual or moral and would contradict the beliefs of Islam's morality to participate in such things. I think the bottom line is national interest with some idealism as USA is doing to promote democracy(ideal) and achieving its national interest(real). A balance in Idealism and Realism I always love.
Islam as a religion stands for morality but those Arabs or others like Persians even Afghans including Taliban used it to achieve their real goals. It was morally or religiously not good. That is why always Imams(religion) and Sultans(state) were always separate(secularism)

Your last statement is completely historically false since most of the Sultans had the Imams as advisors.
The rest of your statement seems to be compromising morality for what you very wrongly label; realism. It seems that Your outlook on politics is corrupt and based on immoral motives Isn't Justice more important than those? If you say Justice is not as important, then this cannot benefit anyone. ANy politics of injustice is counter productive and ultimately against the population.
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
