  • Sanctions on Iran have no adverse effects on Afghanistan

Afghan officials have rejected Western media reports that the U.S. and the E.U. chastising sanctions on Iran have negative impacts on Afghanistan.

Ministry of Commerce says that the sanctions may actually have positive impacts on Afghanistan. Therefore, Iran is trying to invest in Afghanistan.

Wall Street Journal had written in one of its articles that the sanctions on Iran may indirectly harm Afghanistan.

Waheedullah Ghazikhail, Spokesperson to the Ministry of Commerce, turned down the report and said:

“The sanctions actually benefit Afghanistan. As a result of these sanction, a number of Iranian traders have increased their investment in Afghanistan, mainly in Herat province. We have not seen any negative signs of these sanctions.”

Mr. Ghazikhail added that the Ministry had requested Afghan traders to not have any business deals with Iranian authorities that fall under the transaction. However, they did not mean to support the sanctions but rather to protect Afghan traders from any harm.

Muzamil Shinwari in his interview with the Wall Street Journal had said that the first people who might suffer from the negative impacts of the sanctions would be Afghan refugees in Iran by losing their jobs.

However, Mr. Ghazikhail declined Mr. Shinwari’s view and said that Afghans in Iran do not have such jobs that can be affected by the sanctions.

America and the E.U. imposed sanctions on Iran in order to force Iran to put a halt on its alleged nuclear weapons program.

Afghanistan is the only country in the region that have strategic ties with America and the E.U while at the same time has kept Iran as one of its friends in the region.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Really I ask myself how the world thinks ometimes hating Iran for its nuclear program with so many nuclear states arround.
I am against any nuclear activities, may it be for energy or for bombs.
They are to dangerous. However if energy can be justified as a reason, bombs cannot.
    But!
The countries who try to destroy Iran themselves are mega-nuclear powers and use Uranium almost everywhere.
They still did not destroy their nuclear weapons, they only fear they will have opponents with same weapons. But what do they fear? Does anybody still think to use nuclear weapons seriously? I think they still didn't find where to go to live to if they destroy the athmosphere and earth.

Iran is a strong country, with a GDP larger than both Afghanistan and Pakistan combined. It has great educational institutions, that unlike Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan does not train parrots. It's scientists are top-notch, and some regional countries can't stand the nation growing especially with all these sanctions.

I have plenty of problems with Iran, but I do admit that they are regional nations that are trying to bully Iran. Israel can have 200-400 nuclear weapons, yet Iran, a historical nation like Afghanistan, can't have 1? Why such unparalleled hypocrisy?

Meyebe if Iran used diplomacy more wise this would not happen. Screaming that they would whipe out Israel from the face of the earth is not helping.

When did Iran say that? Any source?

And by the way, I am not defending Israel, but lets be real, what do you expect when you say things like that, and at the same time you are building nuclear power plant. I know that Iran will never use boms, but this kind of words are not helping.

There is a difference between a nation saying "If you attack us, you will us disappear" and "We will wipe you off, for no reason". By the way, even Israeli commentators agree that Ahmadinejad never said he wants to wipe Israeli off the face of the earth for no reason, that's why you couldn't find it.

Israel has no basis to exist, even supported by the bible:

                  Book of Revelations
2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan (Zionist)

Whether they have a basis or not is irrelevant Kesh. What matters is they do as of now exist, and they are the most advanced nation in the region.

Doesn't hurt having Rothschild banking, and the UN at their finger tips

I don't think Iran has an interest bank, similar to the Fed. Could this be a reason why they are on constant agitprop attack?

The problem is not Iran or the Iranians, the problem is the current government with its ayatollahs and & Ahmadinejad.
The great history and the great people of Iran don't deserve a dictator like ahmadinejad.
And I hope he will never have a nuclear weapon.

You really think the young, energetic Iranians of Iran don't support him, or would allow a 'dictator'? I happen to interact with many Iranians, and none view him as a 'dictator'. They have problems with some of the policies, but rest assured that if their interests did not 'converge' to an extent, he'd be overthrown. In fact, most are happy with their independence from the west, based on my experience. I even met a Jewish Iranian who said he is happy with the current regime, he was here on a merit-based scholarship.

Iran is far cleaner, and doing way better scientifically than the nation has ever in it's history, despite these horrific sanctions. Today, Iran has better roads, and I'd argue better universities than India and Pakistan. With respect to it's population, the only country in the region that competes with Iran is Israel. It has far lesser problems than India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. It's people are united for the most part.

Trust me bhai, I've seen the terrible parrots of Indian Universities like IIT's, and Pakistani universities like NED, or NUST, and I've seen the innovative minds of Sharif University, Shiraz University. Simply no comparison.

Remember the elections in iran in 2009,
There were so many evidences of irregularities in that elections
Remember the Riots in Tehran against Ahmadinejad, The young people of Iran want Freedom, The women want freedom
But it's true that they ameliorated the universities, but isn't it better with a democratic and safe governement ?
Ahmadinejad imprisoned his opponents. There should be a true election.
Iran can be much more economically powerful without this corrupt governement

Yeah, but keep in mind most of those riots could have had to do with foreign agencies hoping to overthrow the current regime, and install a friendly dictator. If Ahmadinejad was a dictator, he'd be looting the nation, like most Indian and Afghan politicians. Instead, he lives a simple life and wishes for his nation to be prosperous. The powerful Al-Quds force alone would overthrow the government if they feel like their interests have diverged. Keep in mind, many Arab along with Western nations don't like the independent attitude of Iran.

Iran isn't as 'religious' as it appears, trust me on that one. This whole nuclear drama has united the people.
