Our situation is different I would say.
We have no armed groups and that is a very good thing for us and big problem for Afghanistan.
But we are far away of being a developed country, all the development we had got destroyed inside our country and a simple political change won't do it as in the last decades the mentality of the people has gone to a very low level in every thing, ingluding inner morality and habits.
We have no armed groups that think a working woman is what You said, but we have people who think so, while men behave in the worst way( i am refering to their sexual life).
In the village of my life working wmen are always looked bad. Surely in the capital it isn't at all like that.
However I noticed that Afghanistan produces a lot of things that go for export, for instance I could find different Afghan products in Georgia, Germany, Italy. They are sure not hi-tech, but at least some export, what You wouldn't say about us. Our country is not self sufficient, but most people are ill of having and spending to much money on expensive clothes, alcohol, cars... and many other useless things, while perhaps not having a normal home and not enough to eat.
We are sure not very developed, due to the mentality that is created inside my country.
One other thing however, our region is same as yours instable, even if now relatively calm, the air of conflict is very hot.

Afghanistan, would it have at least a period of peace and calm life , I am sure it would be able to organize itself well and develop.
