They are innocent but when they will grow up and come to know about the hypocrisies of their leaders they will never ever follow their way.

Brother these nationalists are brain washed with secular ideas. That is the only reason I don't want them come in power.

Allah made state, Allah made religion.
Removing Allah's laws from the state is in favor of man-made ones is an insult to Him.

I know better than you secularists want to limit Islam only to mosques but it is not Christianity. Islam is a guideline for the human beings in all aspects of life from personal life to the state matters. We have a very clear of the four Caliphs they established an Islamic society on the principles of Quran and the life of Prophet Muhammad pbuh. So its better for the secularists to not interfere in the Islamic way of life.

                      That's the biggest myth ever.

There is no such thing as the "Islamic way of life". Everything rests upon interpretation. That's why the Saudis' interpretation differs from the Egyptian's, their's differs from the Pakistanis' and then their's differs from that of the Taliban.

In fact, finding common Islamic norms and values has led to more fitna than anything else in the Islamic world.

Most of you Western born and bred kids and heavily indoctrinated with Salafi/Wahabi dogma. However, you will hardly find any Pashtun village or district that does not contain shrines of Sufi 'saints'. Most expats are surprised when they go back home and realize that their version of Islam is so vastly different from that of their home countries.
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be".

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives".

If at all you were referring to me, you know NOTHING about man.

I am not "indoctrinated" and neither am I Western bred. Born, yes.
I have been to (and lived in) most major places in Pashtunkhwa and I am myself a follower of Tasawwuf, but when they bowdown to the Pirs and pray to them, instead of praying for, that is shirk in its most blatant form.

In a way Levanay Zalmay is right

I just read Hakim's post in the "What if you were president of Afghanistan"; I honestly don't know which of that was serious and which was just to be silly

but in one line Hakim says he wants to fully implement SHari'ah

then in another he wants to legalize marijuana for ALL.

but in the Shari'ah that I KNOW ALL things which get you high are forbidden ....so if he thinks that Marijuana doesn't fall into that category

THAT right there demonstrates Levanay Zalmay's point. sadly

and I'm someone who supports Shari'ah but it's hard to when Levanay demonstrates some of the loop holes in implementing SHari'ah.

That was a joke, but I would probably do those things I mentioned.

Under my interpretation, Marijuana is 100% permissible in Islam as it is not "khamr", i.e. a fermented drink which intoxicates, though smoking it is harmful indeed, it can used for its benefits in a number of other ways.

....no; this is wrong, the definition of khamarah means something that clouds the senses , khamr refers to ANYTHINg that intoxicates, not just drinks, there is "sharab al khamr"; the reason khamr is used interchangeably with drinks is because in the Arabian Peninsula, smoking marijuana was not common or even known during the time of the Prophet(saw), but the same idea applies.

                              Is Marijuana Haram?
Answered by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari

                              Question:
When I was young I was told that alcohol was haram, the reason being that it intoxicates a person. Making him unaware of the external world, making him loose control of himself and impairing his judgement etc. I have friends who, like many youngsters are into drugs. Recently after having found one of my most dear friends to be involved in it, really saddened me. Though he was not into some hardcore drugs, he was into marijuana or 'weed' as its commonly known. I tried to stop him but he in turn told me things like...the scientific proof of it not being an addictive substance and also of it not being haram. He said it is nowhere written that its haram. But my explanation was that it was something that makes a person unaware of what is going on and the persons brain is slowed down etc... but since I myself didnt know much about the matter I could do nothing. Brother I want to know if marijuana or another drugs are haram in Islam, so that I could provide my friend with a suitable answer.
                              Answer:

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

Drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, opium, etc are all unlawful (haram) due to the various harms connected with them.

Marijuana is a psychoactive drug made from the leaves of the cannabis plant. It is usually smoked but can also be eaten. It is the most commonly used and considered to be a soft drug.

Marijuana intoxicates a person the same way alcohol does. It weakens ones senses and the capability to reflect. Scientific research has proven that, marijuana has much harm, and could lead one in becoming an addict to other hard drugs.

The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: Every intoxicant is prohibited. Sahih al-Bukhari, no. 4088)

And he (Allah bless him & give him peace) also said:

That which intoxicates in large quantities is prohibited in small quantities. (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, and others, with a sound chain of narrators)

But perhaps you have a different spin on it; but that proves Levanay's point; people won't agree on what is SHari'ah; so how can we have a Shari'ah?
