Don't you know the shot of Saad ibn Waqqas (rad) when he shot a man in the battle of Uhud,after that man shot a black woman who was covering the prophet(pbuh) from attacks,and when that man hit the woman with the arrow the kafir laughed,and the prophet (pbuh) ordered Saad (may Allah be pleased with him,verily i love him much),shot and hit that man,this time the Prophet(pbuh) laughed.High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

They were killed in the battle and afterwards beheaded as i got it from news.
