Why India is interested in Afghanistan?

India does not even care about Pakistan.

Its more worried about China, am I right?

India is a G20 power. And its now working on becoming a super-power. What about Pakistan? Its still busy improving its literacy rate.

yes right now india is more interested in china and economy as we are 2nd fastest growing economy in the world after china.

Afghans should be more concerned about Pakistan's interest in their land than Indian as Pakistan has the majority of their historic enemy - Punjabis who now even claim to be muslims and hence are more dangerous.

And for those who are not blessed with wisdom ,let me reitierate that I am talking about the elite exploiter classof Punjabis not the normal poor and genuine Punjabi who is least bothered about what is going on behind the closed doors in Islamabad.

What does a basic Indian think of us Afghans?

look mate we have very strong traditional relations with you guys. you can find lot of Afghan people in north india. Delhi has a huge populations of pathans .and for your kind information we have a lot of afghan students.

But we are way to behind in technology now, they have nuclear weapons. How can we tackle them Pir?

Nuclear warheads cannot save Pakistan from its destined future as the same nuclear weapons could not save USSR from disintegration. Unless the issues of various nations in Pakistan and their due share in power and resources coupled with politico-economic autonomy is addressed,the integrity of Pakistan itself is on stake.

The intrinsic contradictions in the basic political nomenclature of Pakistan will lead it to get balkanised if those who are at the helm of affairs do not address the basic issues of the federating units constituting Pakistan.

Pakistan can never use nuclear powers against Afghanistan as Afghans due to lack of political consciousness and indoctrinated religosity are being used as cheap labour force and proxy warriors to safeguard the Pakistani interests.


The more Afghans get engrossed in following religion blindly the more are their chances of being used as fodders and guinea pigs for Pakistani interests.The more Afghans get awareness and political consciosuness about their national interests ,the more immune they will be to external infiltration and proxy wars.

Just the presence of Afghans in India does not prove that India is contributing to the stability and prosperity of Afghanistan as Pakistan in its occupied Pakthunkhwa territory [called Khyber Pakhtunkhwa now] also has millions of Afghans who had to flee the war struck zone and had to live in miserable conditions in there while the money and aid in their name was being used by Pakistan to strengthen her defence.

I think India should contribute to establish the infrastructure for Information Technology and academic instiututions related to engineering and basic / physical sciences.

The other challenging task of strengthening the Industrial base of Afghanistan. Companies like TATA ,RELIANCE and WIPRO should invest in the private sector.

In educational sector we need instutitons like IIT. It would be appreciable if the govt of India could open a couple of its branches in demographically dense and big cities of Afghanistan.

We need major investment in the the exploration of mineral and precious metals industry. Afghanistan is estimated to have the reserves of one of the rarest and most expensive precious minerals like lithium , titanium etc worth trillions of dollars. Infact least Afghans would know that many US firms are working since 2001 on lifting rare minerals in badakhshan,baghlan and other cities in Afghanistan.

Similalry establishment of Roads, Dams , Hospitals would be other confidence building measures [CBM's] between the two govts.

I agree. India has bigger fish to fry than Pakistan. It's aspiring to be a regional power and it's well on the path to eventually becoming a great power. However, to completely discount India's aims against Pakistan (as well as Pakistan's versus India) would be too naive.

Look! The real creators of Pakistan were the people of East Bengal. If India didn't occpy it despite its military presence in East Bengal during its 1971 war, then it is mere pretense on behalf of Pakistan/Punjab to keep the oppressed nations colonised by creating false and deceptive excuses of indian occupation. The withdrawl of India forces from Bangladesh clearly proves that the problem lies with Pakistan/Punjab and not India and Pakistan security concerns are mere exaggeration.

The very strange thing that occured in the history of Pakistan was that the real creators of Pakistan had a historic struggle to win back their freedom from Pakistan.

Pir rokhan, don't you think India is using us as well just like Pakistan? But India is more discreet?

If you have two neighbours one hindu and other muslim and the Hindu one helps you build your house, helps your children in education and helps you financially etc while the other assures you that he is your Muslim brother hence he should use your house to safeguard his own house, use your life to safeguard his life, sell your blood to get dollars from your enemy ,give your family shelter in a part of his house which legally belongs to you but you cant claim it due to your socio economic status, gets aid from the neighbourhood using your name, does not spend a penny for your welfare in that aid money, buys more weapons for himself ,send you to fight so his interests are safegaurded then ,my friend, tell me truly who is "using you" the hindu neighbour or the muslim neighbour?

There could be three interests which India might have:

1) A soft corner against Pakistan

2) Ally's vote in the security council for permanent membership and hence for becoming a regional power.

3) A trade route for central asian market

I dont think Afghanistan is at loss in any of these three. In politics , I.R are always governed and dictated by mutual interests.

India has the 3rd largest muslim population. India has more muslim than the whole of iran, afghanistan, iraq put together,
