Since Ahmad shah abdali till Hamid karzai, most of our presidents or kings were pashtoons. We did hate some of them and loved someothers.
Some were good and some were bad but today we want to talk about current president Hamid karzai.
He is related to a political family (his father was a politician and mujahid killed by taliban) and now he is our president. I see that many people call him with bad names such as puppit,ghadar,bad person and etc. Meantime others love him because after the fall of taliban when he became president,wishes and hopes for peace and stability raised in hearts of Afghans specially pashtoons.
I believe that others like tajiks,turkmen,uzbak,hazara and panjsheri hate hamid karzai for being pashton but why do we hate him?
I personaly never hated him because as i see nothing is in his hands.
He has been captured or surrounded by greedy warlords from different provinces such as panjsher,herat,mazar,bamyan and etc. He might be not able to control all of them because of the fruad and lack of support.

Malgariya, Hamid Karzai has done a commendable job in bringing stability to Afghanistan. He has enacted a domestic policy so as to integrate the various factions and power groups eg the ex-Shura ye Nazar and Dostum and the ex Hizb e Wahdat factions. On the foriegn policy front, he has successfully managed to portray to the international community who the real cause of terrorism in Afghanistan is ie Pakistan. Pakistan has been exposed now as the cause of instability in Afghanistan. HE Hamid Karzai has taken steps for peace such as dialogue with the moderate Taliban. He has the mandate of the people of Afghanistan be they from Mazar, Laghman or Kandahar. Some problems remain, I admit, but the bigger picture is very positive.
Those who call him names such as 'ghadaar' etc are in fact touting the line of ISPR and ISI who want to de-stabilize Afghanistan. The present Afghan setup has been formulated by all the factions of Afghanistan. The Loya Jirgas of 2002 had Shah Zahir Shah, Shura e Nazar, Rashid Dostum, Sibghatullah Mujadid, Burhanuddin Rabbani, Karim Khalili, elders of the Zadran tribe in Pakiya, all th ex-Mujahideen factions except HI of Hekmatyar, among others. The only ones left out were those who were the cause of instability and those who were supported by the Pakistani establishment. He has stood up to the US on more ocassions than the Gen Kiyani and Gen Pasha of Pakistan ever have.

do you honestly think Karzai has worked for us Afghans?

All he has done is have his brother loot Afghanistan and modernize Kandahar and the purpose of modernizing Kandahar to them is so they can own most of the financial centre's in Kandahar. They are building new cities in Kandahar most of the infrastructure is owned by them, Since they are Kandaharis.


Even Kabul parliament told Hamid Karzai "Why on earth do you visit Kandahar 2x a month?"

I am dissapointed that a majority of the members of PF fell prey to the Pakistani propaganda against UlusMashar Hamid Karzai. Too many people have bad mouthed him without actually producing any credible case or charge sheet against him. Hamid Karzai, I repeat, has done a very very commendable job given the very tough and unpredictable circumstances. He has succeeded on all fronts, domestic and foreign.
About the corruption: People should know that 81% of the development aid to Afghanistan is channeled through the NGOs. Only 19% is provided directly to the Afghan Government.

He was the only Afghan who went to Pakistan and said the FCR is a Barbaric rule and should not be applied onto the Tribal Pashtuns.

Tell me what can a person( pashtun or not!) do when there's this DARK CLOUD above ones head? Things will be done according to plan, whether Karzai agrees with it or not. Karzai is only needed so later on people can put the blame on him. A puppet he is, but then ameqa ke tanesta ke dar Afghanistan kona, shabasesh. He was left in a sandbox with greedy dogs coming from north, east south west in search of food in form of power/money.

I'm not defending him, I'm sure he likes the 'power',or so he thinks, very much. I'm just saying that it's not easy ruling Afghanistan. I think Afghanistan is the most difficult country to lead.

You should also add that he is in the same list as Shah Shuja and Babrak karma. They are all in same category.

I agree with Nadir Shah and consider him to be a right president for the wrong and miserable times,Afghans/Pashtuns are going through.

Well hes better than Mullah Omar who is hiding in Punjab Rawalpindi. Atleast his feet are on Afghan Soil, Instead of Taliban who hide in Pak Army barraks or in Quetta.

Col Imam has met many Afghan taliban figures in the last year, and your telling me ISI can not track them down.

I thin Karzai is a decent person and works his best.
He definitely is not a bad person or against Afghans/Pushtuns or Afghanistan.

However, he is very weak, he does not have any real power.

He is one of the very few Afghan (Pushtuns) among the non-Pushtun Hazaras that control the Govt..

His hands are tied, I can appreciate that, but he still is doing a little less than what he could accomplish. He should not let people make him their puppet.
