But the gravest danger of an all-out shootin' war comes from Pakistan and India. Until the revelation of these finds, Islamabad (which continues to support the Afghan Taliban) just wanted strategic depth in the event of a war with New Delhi, while India had engaged in Afganistan just to frustrate Pakistan. Now Pakistan, a country in which the powerful have already stolen all there is to steal, will develop delusions of grandeur about controlling Afghanistan's subsurface wealth. And India's swelling economy will develop a sudden hunger for Afghan minerals. China will side with Pakistan, exploiting Islamabad as a proxy. Iran may line up with China and Pakistan, as well. Pakistan will turn up the heat in Kashmir. The "Great Game" of yore is about to become Monopoly played with corpses.

Indian agents get trained in Israel..As to why Mossad agents are in Kabul, they are likely there to aid CIA..it's intereting because Mossad and ISI worked together during the 1990s to wage that mujahideen war against Russia..Mossad provided weapons to the Taliban and had very close links with ISI who was responsible for coordinating all the operations on the ground

But why are Mossad agents in Kabul now ? That could be due to a lot of reasons but none that would change the current flow of events too much

Afghanistan will become developed country when,
        1) Afghans will change their attitude and behaviour from point of negativity to the point of positivity. Positive minds will yield constructive thoughts and plans, which in turn can make construction of Afghanistan. Right now Afghans are behaving like losers and are pre-occupied with blaming game. All the thoughts and concentrations should be directed towards their country.
        2) All the Afghans in foriegn countries should come back to Afghanistan, the country needs "Brains" very much at the moment.
        3) NO TO PAKISTAN ! that is afghans have to bycott Pakistan to become self-reliant and independent. Right now Afghans are mostly dependent on Pakistan for food supply, health and every daily life items.

Doesn't it break your heart to know that your nation, a nation of brave and honorable conquerors and masters, is now in a state where it has to queue up for its daily bread and daal? The people living off aid are not the Tajiks or the Uzbeks from the north but your Afghan brethren...
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be".

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives".

In a transitional period ,after more than 30 years of war like situation you cannot expect a 200 years old republic to become Thomans moor's utopia, it takes takes time.

You did not reflect on the my second question that is:

What do you suggest to improve the situation?

If they do not assign the contracts to the int'l enterprises and with a weak industrial base in Afghanistan too what is the other realsitic way to assign contracts except abandoning the projects.

Do you consider this philanthropy? How are Afghans dependant on Pakistan? The major development projects are funded by the Indian Government.
And what do mean by 'positive' thoughts? Is pointing out your enemy and then working to safeguard your state from the enemy, negative and 'blame game'?

Effective Decision support system has some pre requisites. You should be have established and stabilised institutions, there should be enough resources to take care of your home requirements, self sufficiency in basic commodities to avoid economic blockade and sanctions etc. As everybody knows, Afghanistan has come out of long internal fueds ,, proxy war disasters and being a chess board of Int'l politics so it is unrealistic by any means to expect that Afghanistan will have full liberty to take or implement decision. We live in an integrated global village not on an isolated planet in space continuum.

Good analysis. However Afghanistan can still not be underestimated due to its strategic geo-political coordinates. India, which is also a candidate for the next super power , is a friend of Afghanistan. The most effective populace of Pakistan - the Pashtuns lead by nationalists can play their pro Afghanistan role as a pressure group to prevent Pakistan to have anti Afghan policies. Even the anti state Taliban might be able to play a role if utilised with political wisdom. However the real allies of Afghanistan would be the central Asian states which are both rich in resources as well as technology and has an ethnic affinity with Afghanistan too.

There should also be a pro Afghan foreign policy with west as it will increasingly get against the fundamentalist states like Pakistan. I don’t agree with the point about China. It has always acted as dark horse in regional politics. I don’t think if Afghans could negotiate a deal with them based on their interest, China will get against Afghanistan on the behest of Pakistan. States do not go by friendship or religious affinities they go by national interests.

Some very good words. Only a few things to add.

The stability and development of Afghanistan is in the interest of all the major powers in the region. India has made it's decision to support the Afghan Republic since 2001. China and the Central Asian Republics have a positive stake in the stability of Afghanistan in terms of common trade and resources. The Central Asian Republics cannot tolerate an Islamist government in Afghanistan because of the simmering, undercover Islamist movements in these CARs themselves. The stability of the CARs is in turn beneficial to the US, Russia and China, though for different reasons.
The only forces that seem to benefit from the stability of Afghanistan are Paksitan and Iran. Pakistan for future strategic forays against India and covering up of the secessionist sentiments in Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, Iran for grounding and keeping the US engaged in Afghanistan. Both these policies and forces, specially the dominant force Pakistan have been exposed. Pakistan can no longer keep on de-stabilizing Afghanistan.
China's support for Pakistan comes with a price in terms of straining it's relations with India and the East Turkistan Movement. China stands to gain from the resources in Afghanistan. I think the price of supporting Pakistan will be too heavy for China.
