Has King Zahir Shah ever shown any personality?

on paper, his reign as king was uneventful. his return to kabul back in 2002 was ehhh. he never seemed to inspire any pride or anything or the sort during his rule or exile.

i can't find any speeches of his, or any evidence that he made ballsy moves as leader. people only praise him because there was peace in the country when he was king, which had more to do with outside dynamics more than inside.

he just seemed like a lazy ass guy who never really did anything. can someone prove me wrong?

he wasnt supposed to do anything. he was the puppet and his uncles and cousins were the puppeteers. His uncles and cousins made all the moves. daud wanted to move the country towards a modern republic and leave the old monarchy behind. He couldnt do it by making zahir shah as president, he had no choice but to tell him to get out and made himself the president.

Even when he came back he really did not know what to do. if he had any personality or any fire in his heart, he would have made some moves to bring back the monarchy. but alas he just only knew how to just sit there and nod like the puppet he was all his life.

but he lost even the last piece of "royalty " if you can call it so , when he flew in a american ari force bomber back to kabul.... shah shuja 2.0

karzais father had close relations ships to nadir khan and also zahir shah , he was appointed wakile shora , i belive , and he was notrious for taking bribes for imprisoning people or let them go ,....

thats the reason why kharsai liked sahir so much ....
