Shaima Alawadi, 32, was found unconscious in the dining room of her home in El Cajon, near San Diego, on Wednesday morning by her 17-year-old daughter, said El Cajon police spokesman Lieutenant Mark Coit. She was taken to a local trauma center, where she was not expected to survive her injuries, he added. Coit said in a statement that during the initial stages of the investigation a threatening note was discovered "very close to where the victim was found." "The victim's family stated they had found a similar note earlier this month, however (they) did not report it to authorities," he added. Coit did not detail the contents of the threatening note, or say whether police were treating the attack as a hate crime. Although police are exploring all aspects of this investigation, he said, "evidence thus far leads us to believe this is an isolated incident." A family friend, Sura Alzaidy, told the San Diego Union Tribune newspaper the note read: "Go back to your own country. You're a terrorist." Alzaidy told the newspaper the family had only lived in the house in El Cajon for a few weeks, after moving back to San Diego County from Michigan. A 32-year-old woman from Iraq who was found severely beaten next to a threatening note saying 'go back to your country' died yesterday. Shaima Alawadi was taken off life support three days after being attacked with a tire iron, according to Hanif Mohebi, director of the San Diego chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

'The family is in shock at the moment. They're still trying to deal with what happened,' Mr Mohebi said. Ms Alawadi, a mother of five, had been hospitalised since her 17-year-old daughter found her unconscious on Wednesday in the family's house in El Cajon, California. The daughter, Fatima Al Himidi, told KUSI-TV her mother had been beaten on the head repeatedly with a tire iron, and that the note said 'go back to your country, you terrorist.'

I don't buy it either and you are more likely to be killed by someone that you know, than by a total stranger. The family could of written the note to make a look like a racially motivated crime and the fact that the attack happened in her home is very suspicious. Since it's very rare that someone forces themselves into a persons home to murder them.

which means that relationship unknown is more or less people who are effectively strangers but MAY have some connection and 12.3% are definitely strangers in other words 55%+ percent of people are killed by those outside of their family.

eh, I don't know if I'd go that far, DaMalakandGhar and Evilbunny are OBVIOUSLY agenda driven That was obvious when DaMalakandGhari gives support to the Syrian Regime but lambasts Arabs, espite the fact that the Syrian government are OVERT ARAB NATIONALISTS by their very constitution.Likewise Evilbunny thinks the Syran Government shooting at unarmed civilians is NOT Terrorism, but somehow the Syrian army attacking those same gestapo machinery somehow is.
