America's plans for Afghan and the region

Of late, Washington made a lot of statements which say that US forces withdrawing from Afghanistan but it seems it's not true. Got some screenshots from of a letter from the Embassy of the United States of America in Afghanistan that says that the goals of peace-management operation in Afghan do not comply with US interests, and of course make all these statements a cheapie. See the interesting screenshots here:

America wants to stay the only side that will support the "stability" in Afghan, but in fact no one cares about Afghans and the White House wants to divide the country into four provinces by ethnic basis and aggravate tensions in the country. Koran burning, scoffing at dead Taliban militants and the last Afghan women and children shooting by US soldier showed it clearly. In the end Afghans not satisfied with Karzai (he also annoyed Washington by his self-reliance) will beg US to stay and support the "peace." But in perspective American goal is not helping Afghanistan but having a foothold for future operations in the region. The purposes may be various, from grabbing resources of nearby countries to overthrowing of unwanted regimes...

    what do we think???

    Admin Khan and Tor Khan,

    Is this a real cable?
    http://wikileaks.org/origin/127_59.html

When you go to the wikileaks cable finder site with the most uploaded cables the last 08/2011 released cable is 10Kabul726

This cable is referred to as a 11Kabul series that doesnt appear to exist...???

And when you throw the reference ID into the most up do date search engine by the Dutch, nothing comes up...

      Guys,
I think this is a forgery because its signed Karl Eikenberry, who would never put something like this in print... its a direct admission of saying: Hey guys, psssst, my goal and the USs is to keep the Afghans weak. The only group of people this document makes look good is the Northern alliance groups and Hamid Karzai's central government. It basically plays into the Amrullah Saleh narrative that:
      1) The US is at odds with an amazingly near independent central government
      2) The US fears the Northern alliance
      3) Killing Taliban is against US interests and the US secretly controls and funds the Taliban to keep Karzai weak. Absurd.

        You missed my point brother.
I may just be a turtle now in terms of using these net based tools... but I am saying this is not a wikileak... some proNorthern Alliance block kid with too much time on his hands at a forum created a forgery. I am potentially wrong, but its extremely unlikely that Eikenberry's original document is laid out perfectally on a desk for the original picture supplemented by an exact wikileak that does not appear to exist in ANY database (disclaimer: I may not be using the database correctly).

couple of things don't add up

          1. The URL given in the images; there is nothing hosted there i.e. file not found.

          2. This is the only other forum i found (google image search) that had it

          3. Its fairly easy to modify webpage content using javascript.

The issue is that the August release included '10 memos not any from the 3 month prior date marked on the supposed memo. That also doesnt explain the random picture of the Eikenberry memo sitting all neat and pretty on a desk with print just large enough so that you and I can read it directly. Its a sham.

Thanks for the website find. My German is pretty rusty but the folks commenting appear to be indicating that the US is tricky in destabilizing northern afghanistan where bundeswehr forces are station (paranoia that the US wants to destabilize a region where their troops are which is absurd since the US wants its European allies to stay and take the bulletts so less US Soldiers die).

Could also then be a forgery by the European left to make the Americans look duplicitous. The issue is that the narrative in the memo plays directly into Northern Alliance propaganda. The idiotic comment about how only the goverment and the Northern alliance are forces to be reckoned with etc.

Its fake, Im 99.5% sure... my differential diagnosis is:
Amrullah Saleh faction ideologue vs Karzai government devotee vs European Left

Also yeah when you enter the url as you note, it links to a broken/nonexistent link. Assange would never do that, if this memo existed, which I am nearly confident it does not, then this would be a smoking gun memo that would unravel the whole narrative in a single heart beat. It would like finding a memo that says: Hey guys guess what it wasnt Oswald; it was a Russian on the grassy knoll in Texas. Once again, note how the memo stresses the narrative that the US is in cahoots with the Talibs etc. Thats not the European narrative either... it all leads to one source...

Why else do you think some strangers from hundreds of miles away will spent billions a week in a forsaken land on a forsaken people.

I think its going to be very long when we are going to have an Afghanistan free of foreign forces. US still wants to ensure no attack takes place against it from Afghan territory.

I dont disagree with the intent of these leaks resistance, they state pretty much what the truth is..The situation in Afghanistan is honestly too complicated to comprehend, there isn't just a single thread that you can pick to unravel the problems..It has all become way too complicated

How is a fake document providing the Pro Karzai picture of an embattled Hero President and an threatended hero Northern Alliance the truth? Truth does not require the generation of fake wikileaks documents.

I wasn't referring to that specifically, i mean in general there are butchers in every corner..there is no one solution that can give enduring peace..karzai is a joke

The 'sarcasm' hurts because the truths continue to be buried.

It would appear from this BBC video report witnesses in Kandahar report a different version of the story we are being told about the massacre in Kandahar. In this video Karzai states clearly that the 'rogue' US soldier (Sgt Robert Bales) was not alone and that the US is involved in yet another cover up, calling this the 'end of the road'.

Whether Karzai is able to do anything more than shout is another matter.

About Karzai - he leaves me confused sometimes, because all else said, I think he cares about Afghanistan - he just finds himself over dependent on the US and knows that in this relationship it is about their conditions and not Afghanistan's. You cannot compare him to Pakistan's leadership for example, who will rarely speak out about their equally one-sided US relationship.

                            Also:

@Barakzai - there are some real whacky stories on Wikileaks and it is now becoming increasingly challenging to pick out the real from the surreal.

no tor khan I meant that this specific document doesn't exist in any wiki cache. It's as fake as the ones Pakistan generated a year back.
