I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

i've seen some statistics for consiguimy in Muslim countries and also non muslim countries and i don't think they're accurate.

However, i do realize that there are many illiterate Muslims in those countries who are backward enough to see cousin marriages as Sunnah. So i'll keep an open mind. I still do not believe the Hindu or Sikh figure of 0.1% that you give. I think you're being delusional.

A lot will depend on the definition used.

Daft. It will depend on the health of the population. If the population is small and healthy, free of recessives, the figure will be low, if not, the figure will be high.

That goes with any population, wheather closely related or not. The recessiveness evenutally naturally decreases because people dont marry others with deformaties, thats just natural.

Conclusion: Your an idiot who knows nothing about geneitcs.

Khushal, in every bit of seriousness, you are out of your league here. You clearly dont understand any genetics.

recessiveness does not show up as a deformity in the person that is a carrier. that's why it's known as ....... recessive.......... genius.

What the hell are you talking about. First of all its the alleles that are recessive and dominent. Recessive alleles can be observed you idiot, how else can we know if the recessive alleles exist. male pattern baldness is a recessive trait and we can observe this in people dumbo.

heres and example of how you inherit hair pattern.
              • Two widow’s peak alleles (both dominant), their hairline will have a peak
              • One widow’s peak allele (dominant) and one straight hairline allele (recessive), they will have a widow’s peak
              • Two straight hairline alleles (recessive), their hairline will be straight.

The offspring gets one allele from the mother and one from the father, if the offspring gets both recessive alleles from each parent than the recessive characteristic is observed in the person. If the offspring gets at least one dominent allele from either parent than only the dominent characteristic is observed. Thats why its called dominent becasue the dominent beats out the recessive allele or characteristic but that person can still pass it to their child even though it is not observed in the parent.

Get the hell out of here, your a complete moron, you dont even understand the basics of genetics. If you had read one chapter of a geneitcs book, you would not have started this thread. Every person on here that talks about this subject has no idea how geneitcs work. Most of you are just repeating what you heard from other idiots but have not read studies.

The risk is the same as people having kids in their late thirties. Do you guys actually read studies or do you just blabber away talking from your arse.
I guess roadrunner has gone on a crash course to study genetics?

Not "forbidden" by a professor or after a genetics study, but that would appear to be the main effective reason for forbidding it. I think most higher intelligence animals also send out their young males out of the group for the same reason. BTW I am not trying to pick on any community or any religion.

In the UK there are many studies linking disabilities to cousin marriages. Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities are most affected.
Read any of these and make up your own mind.

UK Pakistani First Cousin Marriage ‘Putting Children’s’ Health at Risk’
Fifty-five per cent of British Pakistanis are married to first cousins and in Bradford the figure is 75 per cent. British Pakistanis represent 3 per cent of all births in Britain but one third of children with recessive disorders.

Pakistani cousin marriages in UK behind genetic disability baby birth boom
Children born from such unions suffer genetic disorders, and the medical risks include higher rates of infant mortality, birth defects, learning difficulties, blindness, hearing problems and metabolic disorders.

Tragedy of the children born with genetic defects because their parents are cousins

Even in Pakistan 72% Pakistanis claim marrying within family:7/10/2010 Gallup poll. That might not mean marrying 1st cousins though.

that doesn't prove inbreeding is bad of course.

it just proves inbreeding among recessive retard carriers is bad.

there could also be some politics to the focus on ethnic group. cousin marriages occur in all communities including sikh ones.

You don't do yourself any favour by trying to be a scholar when you're not. What you posted above is correct, but that is what i said (carrier), and not what you said (The recessiveness evenutally naturally decreases because people dont marry others with deformaties, thats just natural).

The recessives will not show up unless marriage is between someone else with it. If 20% of the population are carriers, 10% of female, 10% of males, 1 or 2% might produce the deformity, the other 18% will go on to have kids, if on average greater than 2, will cause the deformity recessive to multiply. Not decrease.

First I dont know why you think I am trying to sound like a scholar. I am no scholar but I know the basics, there are doctors on this forum but are not contributing.

Second I dont know where your getting your numbers from but I beleive your just guessing the numbers. But If you put two people on an island, lets say they are both carriers of recessive traits. Let them populate the island for hundreds of years, Your going to have some children as abnormal and others normal but carriers. The abnormal ones will die off and not reproduce while the normal ones will reproduce. Eventually over time through natural selection the recessive traits would become a minority therefore it would naturally decrease in that population.

the recessive traits do no disappear. there is ample proof of this because such alleles do not disappear in inbred populations. they multiply up. carriers do not display any retardation or deformity. if your theory were correct, inbreeding would not produce increases in retardedness. it does.

The article states that 700 children are born with disorders but it does not state what percentage are from cousin marriages. It is a fact that the risk is higher but I have already given you reliable scientific studies that conclude the risk is slightly higher, the same slightly higher risk as women in their late thirties having children.

Tragedy of the children born with genetic defects because their parents are cousins

This last article talks more about the politics in Britain. That pakistani marries their first cousin from pakistan. This talks more about how Britain dont want to have more pakistani immigrate to britain. Xenophobia is on the rise I guess.

Your article also states what I have been saying all along:
The result is that children of firstcousin couples, whatever their ethnic background, have the same six per cent chance of having a baby with defects as a woman of 41 conceiving a child.

It says 6% in the UK, it is about 4-5% in the US. About 2-3% higher than the general population.

                          Conclusion: debunked

                          • you can't give percentages, have you not realized this still?

inbreeding is not necessarily bad. it's when retarded people do it that it is very very bad.
