3)Those savage laws you talk about, Afghanistan was going through one of the most savage time of its history. There was rampant raping of women in major cities, kidnapping of children, murders happening left and right everywhere, looting of everything people with guns can get their hands on and selling them on the black market in other countries, etc. What do you expect from people that had no knowledge of administration. These are madrasa students.

I dont agree with any of their policies that they implemented but I understand that policies come about because of the political and economical environment at hand. The harsher the environment, the harsher the policies.

If the US with all its resources and intellectual capacity cant bring some kind of a functioning administration to the country, why would you expect anything better from him who had no resources nor any intellectual talents at his disposal. But for the record, he did a better job than the US.

that question only shows to reinforce why the Taliban dont have any merit. They couldnt even make a tree grow.

Welll that in red should explain all

There is evidence that many terrorist organizations and some rogue regimes pressed
for cash rely on the illicit drug trade as a source of income. In the case of Afghanistan,
reports indicating that the drug trade is a major source of income for the Taliban have
received growing attention. According to some reports, the regime uses poppy-derived
income to arm, train and support fundamentalist groups including the Islamic Movement
of Uzbekistan (IMU) and the Chechen resistance. There have also been allegations of
Osama bin Laden’s personal involvement in drug trafficking to finance al Qaeda’s

        activities.

Yes instead using his own billions of dollars,he used to work on opium and poppy fields to produce drugs and then to sell them and then to train his fighters with the one they dealt with it in the streets of newyork.

        yes

That's funny because there were tons of Pakistanis in the Taliban.

All they had to do was "clean up" the place and they did that, but then they started oppressing the people they were cleaning up. Many International agencies were trying to help, but were constantly harassed and threatened by the Taliban. The Few that stayed did so because they were willing to bear it. The Taliban lost so much assistance just for the fact they felt women shouldn't go to school. Even s not even ALL Girls schools, which were predominant in Afghanistan, this of course was at the mercy of the whatever minister or governor ran the area.

The Russian Calamity ws real, but Afghanistan still had its own airlines; so it couldn't have been that run down, There was electricity in Qandahar even during the Taliban era, until the Taliban tried severing Afghanistan from the rest of the world, everything indicates their agenda was to cripple Afghanistan even further and not relieve them.
The airline was barely functioning, I would hardly call that an airline. The ministers were illiterate mullahs who had no idea on how to run a society.
Most mullahs blamed the Halqi and Parchami policies that destroyed Afghanistan, so they thought everything should be done the opposite of the Halqi and Parchami. So if a mullah wanted education for girls, another mullah would argue that thats what the Halqi and Parchami did so it must be bad sidelining the rational mullah. If a mullah wanted to work with humanitarian organizations, another mullah would argue that they are Kuffar and are only proselytizing Christianity sidelining all rationality from taking hold.

The ministers you see today are not that much better. The first 5 years you had Fahim running the defense ministery, what does an uneducated warlord know anything about running a ministry. You had Ismail Khan running the enery ministery, what does he know about energy. You had war criminals running the justice ministery, the list continues, what a joke. The only reason Afghan government is not collapsing is because NATO troops are holding it together. What Afghanistan needs is someone that can hold the country together, The NA had an opportunity of a lifetime for Afghanistan and they blew it. Just like their was no rationality with the Taliban, there was no rationality in the NA either. You have limited options in the country. There is also an explaination of why there is no rationality in the NA either.

Does Afghanistan recognize the Durand line. Afghanistan cant have it both ways, they cant call PAshtun east of the durand Pakistani when it suits them. Recognize the Durand and then call them paksitani.

The nutrients that the tree needs to grow were insufficient. NATO also has failed in making the tree grow.

But you concede it was functioning right? so they had some type of modern infrastructure right They had SOMETHING to work with right? Yet they insisted on not using it.

To Quoque Fallacy; the Ministers being better now is not the issue; the Taliban had ever chance to prove themselves and they didnt. I wont but the "they were starting from scratch" excuse" as long as Taliban hold themselves as morally superior; I will hold them too by that same standard.

But no one here is claiming NATO is there to make trees grow, where as the Taliban were claiming they'd do exactly that (metaphorically)
