karzai was rescued by hekmatyar when he was put in prison by the northern alliance in the 90s.

abdur rahman khan didn't want to build railroads in afghanistan because he thought the country would be easily invaded in the event of war he if did.

ottoman royalty was linked to afghan royalty by marriage.

germany and the ottoman empire dispatched delegations to afghanistan to convince it to break its neutrality and fight the british during ww1.

    ok, go
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Sayyaf and Amin are closely related. Thats why Sayyaf was one of the guys released from prison in an amnesty during Amin´s reign.

Sayyaf fled Afghanistan the very same day.
    The only constant is change.

Ahmad shah baba Abdali once had the Kohinoor in his possession in Kandahar. Now the Queen of England rocks this jewel as if it originated from Edinburgh or something.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

During the Soviet occupation from 1979-1989 the KGB guided the Parcham faction and the military intelligence of the Army GRU the Khalq faction.

There was a deep rift between these two intelligence agencies with diverging interests.
        The only constant is change.

1.Bchha i Saqa, a water carrier was used by the British Intel to incite the religious bigots into exiling Amanullah Shah. The progressive views of King Amanullah had worried the British who preferred a more compliant Gen Nadir Shah to be put on the throne.

            2. Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, a Benglaee, was the only top political leaders who was not a stooge of the British. A true patriot, he was marginalized by the Indian Congress and chose to take up arms against the British in WW II. His contacts in Pakhtunistan and Afghanistan helped him to escape to Kabul from where the Italian Embassy arranged for him to be taken to Germany to meet Hitler. The freedom-loving Afghans went all out to protect him from British secret agents in Kabul, and provided him the traditional Afghan hospitality. From Germany he traveled to Japan in a submarine. He organized and led the INA (Indian National Army) which fought the British in Burma.

The irony is that the driver that rescued Karzai died in CIA torture center.
Karzai is working for the people that detained his rescuer and died under their watch and his allies are the people that imprisoned him.

geographic center of the world's population ... the place in the world that is closest, on average, to every person in the world.

Perhaps the only principled man in the Indian political leadership today is Jaswant Singh. An Artillery Regt officer and a proud Rajput he has written a very courageous and insightful book on Jinnah. According to him - and he proves it, the entire lot of Congress leadership including Gandhi and Nehru were collaborators of the British Raj.
