no doubt the Indian govt is discriminatory towards its Muslim population, no doubt that it continues to oppress the Kashmiris and that we should always ally and sympathize with other Muslims, this is a non starter

however, ultimate i dont blame hindus i blame the muslims who made a fuss and left india. they left their people behind

if partitition never happened, they wouldnt even sneeze in a muslims direction

Porus was definitely not Indian. He was from the area of Pakistan, though which ethnicity is up for debate.

The shared history between Pakistan and India is minimal, until the last 100 years which unified the languages.

Indians come to this forum with plastic smiles, many of us know that Indians hate for Pakistan for instance is based on the fact that 190 million people got independance and shrunk a Hindu country. I as a Pashtun i see a threat from Pakistan but my agendas are obviously different from these hindwaan here preaching hate, some here say they are allied with Afghanstan because of their hate for Pakistans terrorism, as if theres no terrorist threat from Afghanistan.

by the way? whats your game.
My friend, Indians do not hate Pakistanis or vice versa (except a few people). It is also not so much to do with shrinking of India.
The far bigger reason there is bad feeling in Indians about Pakistan is that according to the rules of partition there was to be no population exchange and all people were to stay put in their towns and villages where they and their ancestors had been living from history. So all the Sikhs and Hindus in the new Pakistan (about 25 to 30% of population) were meant to stay there and not migrate to India. Pakistan was not created for the purpose that most people now think - that it was only for Muslims to stay in Pakistan. No. Pakistan was created in those areas where the majority (overall) were Muslims but ALL non-muslims were meant to live there too after 1947.

However, even before Pakistan officially became independent, the Muslim leaders there decided to start killing all the non-Muslims so that they would start fleeing to India. The Sikhs and Hindus owned more land and wealth (in area that became Pakistan) than the Muslims and the idea was to grab all that wealth from them.

So this is the main reason for the bad feelings - that the non-muslims were killed and chased out of their homes like that. Even today the Pakistanis try to hide these killings that they started FIRST in Punjab.

I don't know if you are from KP or Afghanistan, but imagine if most of your relatives and family were killed and you had to flee to another place. Would you forget that? You would not forget it quickly.

There is no general discrimination towards Muslims at all in India. There are even more Hindus in number as badly off as Muslims. Reason Muslims in India are as a percentage more deprived is that most (but not all) of the wealthy and educated Muslims ones took off and went to Pakistan. They left the less educated and poorer Muslims in India who became leaderless too. There was no force used against Muslims to make them leave (except in east Punjab). Most just went because they thought Pakistan was going to be a wonderful land.

Still there are, as we all know, many well off and educated Muslims in India. Azim Premji is no. 3 wealthiest Indian and amongst top 30 or 40 in world, and there are countless more wealthy and educated Indian Muslims.

Agreed India is still full of poor people and life is very difficult for many people there, but it is slowly improving for the better overall.

I have seen a few white and more black Americans walking around in rags in some places in USA.

What is wrong with you folk on here? Do you even know anything about south and central asia? If you want to be taken seriously and not as crackpots you need to get your facts right at least.

If, as you say, Porus was Punjabi from the Janjua Rajput tribe, then that would make him from the area of today's Pakistan (perhaps Jhelum) and that is exactly what I said. Porus was not Indian, or from the area of today's India (and he wasn't a Hindu). It would make Porus from Pakistan, not India.

However, Porus's tribal ethnic group was unknown. I suspect you are an Indian Rajput, but Porus was most likely not.

                    Highlighted bit is very true.

Until the British unified the culture of the subcontinent, there was no cultural unity in any two areas of the subcontinent. Pakistan was distinctly Buddhist while India evolved into Hinduism.

So ALL the punjabis can claim his heritage ( not only the pakistani punjabi, but also the hindus and sikhs

Because i don't know if you knew it, but in jhelum, there were many hindus and sikhs before 1947....

obviously, when Pakistan is referred to, it is the land mass that consitutes Pakistan. Any idiot would know that. You clearly are beneath that.

Pakistan was joined to India in the 18th century, by force. Prior to this event, Pakistan and India were always seperate countries.

In fact, Pakistan was called India in Ancient history while India was a conglomeration of Maratha and Tamil states.
