You see Dreamer there is a new generation of western born Muslims who promote Taliban ideals thinking we are so naive to believe them.
There are 1000s of books, articles, jounralists, politicians who have written about the Taliban and their connections with the ISI. The ISI and Saudi Arabs funded and armed the Taliban, without them, the Taliban would have beeen nothing.
The problem with the superstitous ones is that they are sooo intoxicated with such beliefs that they think god sends the logicistics, the weapons, the money and training down to the Taliban.
The Taliban use to say in Swat that they respect womans rights but lashing them, killing female teachers, forcing women to marry militants and blowing up girls schools does not seem very friendly to women does it.
People get confused with their own morals and the morals of the Taliban.
The Taliban were madrassah students who were grouped up by the likes of General Babar to protect the trade routes through Afghanistan against the roadside miltiias who would attack or take hostage Pakistani tradesmen.
Look at how Pakistan ditched Hekmatyar, Ahmad Shah and co and went for the Taliban. Look at the places where the Taliban recruited and how Mullah Omar placed Punjabi Sectarian Islamists all over Afghanistan to protect his officers, camps etc etc
Its hard for some to accept the truth.

every video which shows the taliban for what they are is a "propganda" lame.. I agree with what your saying... belief in God is one thing... I myself believe in God but supporting a political organisation which is stuck in a backward mentality and which forces religion down peoples throats down is another... PS the talibs where actively funded and supported by the US... a fact which is now "forgotten"Originally posted by Soldat_Amir View PostYou see Dreamer there is a new generation of western born Muslims who promote Taliban ideals thinking we are so naive to believe them.

I would like to correct you there roara, the US withdrew finacial support and aid to the Mujahideen after the soviets withdrew. It was Pakistan and Saudi Arabia who funded and armed the Taliban through Karachi they sent military wear.
You can say the Taliban were funded by a share of the US aid that was left over to the Pakistanis which led to the Northern Mujahideen factions led by Ahmad Shah and Rabbani to break away from the Interim governemtn.

I heard that Pakistan had an avid interest to stop the progress of Afghanistan which lets face it at the time of Najeebullah was the leader of asia... Najeebullah was all too aware of the approaching 1993 deadline of the durran line agreement... Take out najeebullah... bring in a ruling group who will in turn teleport the state to the middle ages and stop any nationalist mentality with regards to claiming KP back as "unislamic" and Pakistan gets to keep KP...Frater aliquis in fide nec fratrem humanitatis
