  • If I were President....Volume 1

As we know a pressing concern of Afghanistan is the lack of security forces. The ANA is a joke and will dissolve as soon as the foreigners withdraw. Furthermore, the office of the President doesnt have its own armed unit, while local and national warlords/power brokers do.

I always wondered, considering the sheer amount of orphans and street children in Afghanistan, why a special budget wasnt set aside to train and equip 10,000 of those kids. A new age Janisserie if you will.

Theyre orphans. They have no tribal or ethnic allegiances. If I were President, I would create my own elite army of orphans. They would consider me their father, and their corps their family.

Of course in 2-3 generations they would become an institutionalized elite, and lead a coup. We;ll worry about that later

    Thoughts?

Depending on how one reads that, it could appear that you want to turn street kids and orphans into the next round of cannon fodder. Personal armies, ha?

Would afghanistan be in the situation that it is today if we had people giving a damn about it's orphans, their future of that of any other Afghan child for that matter. Pigs will fly if someone started actually giving a damn. Just look at this example.
I will be the good one and come up with this amazing idea to save the orphans by sitting on my ass and using them as slaves for the next few decades. Clap for me.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

            Lack of security forces?

            This question is subjective

So an interesting reference for you is the former Lion of Kandahar, aka, Haji Latif, the father of Gul Agha Sherzai. He had quiet a bit more success than Abdul Ahad Karzai at rallying Kandaharis.

He actually was not a bloodline Khan (all of them ran away to safer haunts instead of leading their people against the Russian juggernaut - cowards trying to save their own skin, leaving the poor to fight the war and then crowing about how they were the great Afghans, vanquishers of empires after the poor were done doing the fighting and dying).

Haji Latif was well known though, for having raised a militia of paylochyaan (the street boys of Kandahar without societal rank) and he was able to use them to lethal effect against the Russians. They were very loyal to him. This is why Gul Agha Sherzai doesnt really have the mannerisms of artistocracy... his rank in the Barakzai came from his father's success at raising a militia and being a power broker.

Excellent reference. You understand where Im coming from. Daud got sold out by his own Parchami allies. Najib got sold out by his own Pashtuns (albeit Khalqis) and his Parchami allies (Dostum). The Talibans regime evaporated in 2 weeks. The Northern Alliances losses to the Taliban was just as much due to the battlefield as the backroom deals. Amanullah Khans tribal armies that he led into India turned on him.

Afghan history speaks to the need for a disciplined loyal force which cannot be created in the present circumstances, a country divided by sect, ethnicity, language and tribe

These circumstances call for creative and forceful thinking.

Perhaps Da Zahro Jaam thinks letting orphans roam the streets as beggars and prostitutes is a better idea than arming and educating 10,000 of them as a revolutionary guards, and turning them into the elite of a new society. The Amirs immediate reaction is to insult you and mock you, however as with all matters in general, politics in specific, this conversation is not for you peghla. There are men here, and they are hungry, and their hands need a washin. Make the rounds with the bucket.

You misunderstood me. I agree with you. I was not appreciating Haji Latif or his son. I actually dont like either of them. My point was that Haji Latif did not have a lashkaar the way they do in some areas based on blood relations or simply by being able to say: "hey everyone who is Barakzaay, you are in my laskhaar."

Also, when I use the term rank and elite etc, I dont mean that the people with rank or who knew their plaraan all the way back to Ahmad Shah Baba's time were better. For example, just because Taj Ayyubi had some Popalzai relations and just because his family had some sort of elite relationship by being diplomats doesnt mean they are better than the people walking in the street.

Also, they may stab me, thats true. After the way some of those young boys had loyalties to various commanders and made even simple traveling on the roads hard for my family members. Also, I did not invent the term Payloch... that terminology has been around forever. Why would you think that I coined it?

actually is a farsi word .

pay means foot lootsch .comes from nude luts , so if you have no shoes or zaplais you are a paylootsch ^^ ,actually you could translate it with thug , chaz , or gang banger ^^

but i have to agree sherzai , is compared with kharzai smarter , he at least knows that even if he pushes just alittle of the money which was given to him to the people , and keep 80% or 80% , people will still see in him the better choice. , not that he would be much better , but in such a country and situation one can imagine , that even a little competence seems great than none .

and i can belive that he could play a major role after karzai is gone .
people in nagrahar are happy with him , and to me seems also not bad all compared with the others.

karzais father and grandfather was not a relative of the king but ,actually helped nadir khan , there fore he got a seat in the " senat " and some land , but his most highest income came from , taking bribes and start people having fights ,sent them to prison , and then taking money for release them .
besides to this he haboured also thiefs . ask the people in karzs , i am sure they love him and his familiy ^^

Not being familiar with Islam does not indicate how humane you are. Look at all those imams and mullahs who are very much familiar with Islam yet look at how they use their power, and how they treat the poor. They're full of lies, and are the **** of the earth.

Being a human and treating your humans like how you would wish to be treated is what matters. It's not being muslim, christian, jewish or hindu, because it's all about being a HUMAN BEING by the end of the day, and that should be the main driving force behind helping your fellow humans. If the only reason you are helping others is because you fear your punishments in this world or in the hereafter then we are surely a sorry lot indeed.

The meaning of being familiar varies, you missed to read the very last post of mine in this thread.

let us overview the meaning shortly of familiar :

                              familiar (fa·mil·iar)

                              Syllabification:
                              Pronunciation: /fəˈmilyər/
                              adjective
                              • 1well known from long or close association: their faces will be familiar to many of you a familiar voice
                              • often encountered or experienced; common: the situation was all too familiar
                              • [predic.] (familiar with) having a good knowledge of: ensure that you are familiar with the heating controls
                              • 2in close friendship; intimate: she had not realized they were on such familiar terms
                              • informal to an inappropriate degree.

                              noun
                              • 1 (also familiar spirit) a demon supposedly attending and obeying a witch, often said to assume the form of an animal.
                              • 2(in the Roman Catholic Church) a person rendering certain services in a pope’s or bishop’s household.
                              • 3a close friend or associate.

                              Derivatives

                              familiarly

                              adverb

                              Origin:

Middle English (in the sense 'intimate,' 'on a family footing'): from Old French familier, from Latin familiaris, from familia 'household servants, household, family', from famulus 'servant'

after this,it means to have great knowledge of something, and the familiarity what i mean in this regard is that someone has internalized the rulings of Allah and the tradition of the prophet (pbuh).

you will see many people with beard and even turban or dressed like muslims, but they have less to do with islam, their knowledge, their behavior is different to that of the prophet (pbuh) and his companions (rad),and they do not have morality (these feelings for others).

It is written within the books of history about Umar ibn al Khattab Al Farooq(radiaAllahu anh) :when they told him to be the leader of muslims he started to cry,the people asked him why are you crying you are now the leader of the muslims,he said verily Allah will me take account for even the donkey which is tied in the sun in iraq.

This is what means familiar with islam, not words inshaAllah mashaAllah and Alhamdulillah, and many say these words without thinking about it,without real intention without being really satisfied with Allah.

                              walAllahu Akbar waAllahu aleem walhamdulillah.
High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.
