On August 3, 1995 a Il-76 piloted by a Russian crew was forced down by Taliban fighter plane sparking The Aerostan incident
High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

they escaped and flew their plane back to russia? thats embarassing as hell for the taliban lol they should of just killed them when they had the chance.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

of course they were military men. they were russian airforce pilots who according to the real pilot in the video were transporting weapons to rabbanis government.

actually, the video can be seen in goe's other thread.

these WERE military men. violating afghanistans airspace alone would be cause for imprisonment, providing weaponry to the taliban govts opponents would be cause for death.

Actually the plane flew to the UAE. They did not really want to kill them since they were in negotiations with the Russians for a prisoner exchange. The Taliban had agreed that they had no right to the plane and it was the property of the Russians. The russians denied they had any afghan citizens as prisoners. But they had rag tag guards guarding them. the russian crew were inprisoned at the kandahar airport for about a year.

Its not about being military men or civilian men. In afghanistan western or russian prisoners means money. they are more valuable alive than dead.
