PressTV + Zaid Hamid = LOL
I might as well also start making Youtube videos claiming Iran, China and Pakistan are part of Afghanistan since it was Afghan blood which defeated the soviets. Truly 'lol' material.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

What ridicules nonsense. This is not even funny but tragic. It would be the same as an american rat claiming that usa is the oldest civilization in the world.
Who pays this guy? Rafidah iran and zionist israel? Or is he a puppet of the americans? Are the "Pakistanis" (Pakistanis of non-Pashtun origin) here not ashamed of such comments?
This remains me of comments made by rafidah iran about Iraq. Brother graveyardofempires warned me about the iranian press tv and what do I see today. An interview with an iranian rat from the Iraqi puppet government saying completely lies and opposite of what he said to Al-Jazeera when he was confronted by an Sunni Iraqi. His name is Saad al-Muttalabi. He remains me of this guy in the video thas is posted in this thread.

"Since 1975.. Pakistan has (had) a very strong stake in Afghanistan...... the ISI has a strategic stake.."
Agreed 100%. And that stake includes keeping Afghanistan a state that cannot stands on its own feet so that its iridescent claims die. For a Punjabi to support this is a matter of common sense. However, what is saddening is that many Pashtuns also support this view that Islamabad should control Kabul through the Taliban. They don't realize that this is detrimental to their own Pashtun national interest.
And Zaid Hamid also touches upon the "defense of political Islam" theory that Pakistan should encourage theocratic dictatorships in Afghanistan for the sake of Islam. So to oppose the Pakistani's interference in Afghanistan is, in effect, opposing Islam. How about if Mr. Zaid Hamid begins at home and cleans up the brothels in Islamabad and Lahore first?

To date, Pakistan has not attacked or even contained any militant group that is involved in Afghanistan and has agreed not to attack the Pakistani armed forces. They include the Mullah Nazir group, Hafiq Gul Bahadur's group, the Haqqani Network, the Hekmatyaar group and the Mullah Omar Shura (among others).
That's hardly supporting a war. Especially if whatever little you do translates into dollars, the Pakistani's biggest weakness.

Pakistan has been supporting the US war and occupation of Afghanistan with critical supply routes and air bases. This action of theirs is logically the only means they are interfering in Afghanistan. Without this support, this war was next to impossible as the supply routes are deemed critical
Pakistan has listened to the US requests before, starting a war in Waziristan. The result of this was a Pakistani defeat in in which they lost over 5000 soldiers
Pakistans support for the US war was one of the reasons groups like TTP came to be
Pakistan is not going to start another civil war at the request of the US. Supporting the US war goes against their interests
Lastly, just because regional nations like China, Pakistan, and Iran are opposed to the US presence, it means nothing at all to the rural Afghan who is just as much opposed to the US occupation
Nothing at all

LZ is correct in what he says. Pakistan has had its strategic depth policy enforced by afghan groups ever since zahir shah was forced out of the country. And pakistan is very successful in employing its strategy of convincing these groups that if they fight against pakistan, they would be fighting against Islam. This same strategy was employed by the moghuls more or less.
as far as the ttp being a creation of the cia is bogus. the ttp is defending itself against invasion by pak forces. remember FATA is autonomous is not apart of paksitan proper. The pakistani flag never flew over FATA.Last edited by khushal; 12-25-2011, 11:16 PM.

its called a double game. support for the US and the taliban. the world knows it. it doesn't make the talibans war any less legitimate, but pretending that the paki institution isn't using them for their own ends is ridiculous. do u think the US would alienate a perfect poodle ally, if they didn't actually have legitimate claims against them? There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
