Imran Khan the Trojan horse from Punjab
Imran Khan has been quite active on the political scene with his political events and TV appearances, just like your typical Pakistani Nationalist, he is a Talib during the day and a Talib at night. Imran Khan finds pleasure in exploiting the emotions of the Pashtun people for his own political career and votes. It’s quite obvious that Imran Khan does not practice what he preaches and with his track record he would fit very nicely in being considered a good candidate of being hypocrite of the year. Imran Khan’s mentor was a Hamid Gul, A former general of the ISI, who still to this day supports a Taliban government in Afghanistan. The double standards of these two individuals are quite astonishing and shocking.
It’s no hidden secret; the way the Taliban treated women in Afghanistan during their rule, what makes it even more infuriating is the fact, that Imran Khan and Hamid Gul would never apply the same policies the Taliban did in their own households or their native region of Punjab. Hamid Gul’s daughter who goes by the name of Uzma Gul, runs a coach business in Rawalpindi and likes to listen to music, something women under the Taliban were prohibited to do, Hamid Gul in a recent interview with a Dr Shahid Masood, was present with his family, and not a single women there donned the burqa or the headscarf not even his own wife, something punishable with death or lashings during the Taliban rule in Afghanistan. Just like the other failures who keep hyping up the whole Islamic Pakistani Emeriti non sense, they have been exposed as hypocrites, take Hamid Zaid as an example, every video he makes, he speaks of Hadiths proclaiming the Pakistani Army leading the Islamic world to victory then we see him donning caps and clothing designed by a Pakistani Fashion designer called Maria B, who happens to never wear a headscarf let alone a full burqa.
Imran Khan, once stated on the Kal Tak Talk Show in relation to a question on Swat by the talk show host called Javed Choundary, that Sharia is part of being a Muslim and on a different show on ARY channel Imran Khan stated that all the cases of beheadings and murders by the Pakistani Taliban are just mere propaganda being spread by the government in Pakistan. Imran Khan seems to be quite reluctant to speak against the Taliban since he adores them, but what makes Imran Khan a perfect candidate for hypocrite of the year, is the fact that he lives an absolutely different lifestyle than those who were under siege by the Taliban in Swat.
Imran Khan supports the implementation of Sharia its quite obvious from his defensive stance on the Taliban, however I wonder what the Taliban would do with a man who sleeps with a women out of marriage(Sita White), and has a daughter, whose recent wife(Jamima Khan), cheats on him with a British actor called Huge Grant and leaves Islam(Apostasy), its not complicated to find out what the Taliban would do to people who commit adultery or leave Islam, while girls schools in Swat were being bombed and the locals being put through some of the worst kind of torture and intimidation by the Taliban, Imran Khan was spared the punishment of his Un-Talib misconduct as he was enjoying the luxuries of his cosy life in his Villa in Punjab.
Imran Khan’s fascination with the Taliban has made him look like a complete fool or a motive ridden ISI stooge who wants to turn the Pashtun region into another militant ravaged society whereby the ISI once again has an easy access to Afghanistan. Imran Khan once stated that the Haqqanis could be the ticket to peace in Afghanistan, the same Haqqanis, who shelter some of the biggest Al Qaida figures, and took part in introducing suicide bombing camps in the Pashtun tribal region of North Waziristan. Since Imran Khan’s own children are probably being educated in some western secular educational institution, the children of Waziristan and Swat are too scared to go to school just in case they upset the local Talib commander. Imran Khan, just like his mentor Hamid Gul has absolutely no remorse for all the Pashtuns who have been killed by the Taliban through their vast suicide bombing missions.
It’s become a habit of Imran Khan to white wash history and blames others for Pakistan’s problems. He has the view, that the reason why there are terrorist attacks in Pakistan, is because of the presence of American and NATO forces in Afghanistan, totally ignoring the fundamental fact that for the last 40 years, Pakistan has systematically destroyed the fabric of Afghan society by arming and supporting Islamist groups even when Communism and the Soviets were never present on Afghan soil.
I would argue the reason why Pakistan is in such a mess, is because of its policies towards waging proxy warfare in other peoples countries. Pakistan was spared the Taliban revolution in Afghanistan as both Talib and Pakistani were Bhai Bhai(Brothers) of the same cause which was to bring Afghanistan backward and to block it from progressing and developing into a successful unified state, but however its disappointing to see Imran Khan never mention the vast support the Pakistani government gave to the Taliban, even his own nemesis the Bhutto’s, were hand in hand with the JUI party under Fazul Rehman/Sami ul Haq in funding the Taliban’s take over of Afghanistan.
The Pakistani government gave the Taliban movement 30 million dollars including food, aid and weapons after they took Kabul, Pakistan also provided 10 million dollars to the Taliban to meet the expenses and salaries of government officials, when the world witnessed the oppressive manner the Taliban ruled over Afghans, the systematic killings of innocent people and the harsh punishments for minor issues meted out to women especially the Pakistanis would still defend the Taliban at the Untied nations and against any sanctions placed upon them.
Imran Khan paints a very pretty picture of Taliban rule in Afghanistan deceiving both the listener and reader by ignoring the real facts of why the Taliban were created and the disastrous methods they used to bring Afghanistan under the sphere of Pakistan’s influence. Pakistan has been supporting Islamist militant groups in Afghanistan for strategic purposes, such as connecting Pakistan with Central Asia through Afghanistan, (Afghan development cell), to keep Indian influence out and most importantly to use Afghanistan as a regrouping base if pushed back by the Indians in an event of a war.
While Imran Khan enjoyed the fame and the playboy lifestyle, Afghans were being bombarded by rocket attacks, gun fire and lawlessness on the expense of ISI strategic depth, and now Imran Khan wants the return of the Taliban to secure a broken Pakistan presence in a future Afghanistan. Imran Khan claims that his party will bring peace and stability to Pakhtunkhwa, even if we put into account his denial of Taliban atrocities and his support for Sharia in Swat including his visit in the past in support of the Tehreek Suba Hazara during the renaming fiasco, I wonder what kind of Pashtun would give his/her vote to a man who visits to pledge support to a movement such as Tehreek Suba Hazara who opposed the renaming of a former British colonist name to a more suitable Pashto name and the right of Pashtuns to an identity through the most awful ways of protesting resulting in many innocent Pashtuns being targeted by local Hindkowan gangs led by a Baba Haider Zaman.
